Devon and I went to Mapleton School together, he was always kicking my chair! Than we really met again down Corydon one summer and he hooked me up with back stage passes to Rise Against thru his work with donations I had brought in. He was always making me laugh, I’ll never forget you Zelmer. Hope your resting in paradise with Hugh Hefner now and Gord Downie too. - Posted by: Kendra (Friend ) on: Nov 15, 2017

We didn't really know Devon, it sound like he was a great guy. Music in his heart. We lost our daughter 1 year ago. She also liked her music. They are angels, watching over for us. My deepest sympathy to Zelmer's family...the Afternoon Drive was the highlight of my day. I would have been just as happy listening to Z talk for 4 hours as I was him spinning my favorite rock tracks, he was just that awesome. We are so very lucky he chose The Goat...the airwaves will never be the same without him. Thank you Zelmer for lifting my cheeks for 4 years...I will forever miss your smiling voice. - Posted by: Leanna Walsh (Goat Listener) on: Nov 10, 2014

My Condolences to the family... Zelmer was an amazing radio host. One of my friends won the "Backyard BBQ" last year and we were lucky enough to have Zelmer BBQ Steaks for us and we got to see a bit more of what he was like off air.... He made us laugh and he filled us with hockey tales. Your voice touched so many people and the Goat will never be the same without you! - Posted by: Jess Mac (Listener) on: Nov 10, 2014

I first met Devon in 1999 when he came to work for me as a mobile Dj. It was oblivious to me that he had a tremendous amount of natural talent and passion for working with music and people. He was an eager student and quickly took to working as a Dj at socials and weddings and really excelled at it. It was a great source of pride for me every time I would hear Devon on the radio doing what he loved to do and knowing, in some small way, that I had helped Devon reach his dream. Goodbye Devon, You will be missed. - Posted by: Ron Roy (Former Coworker) on: Nov 08, 2014

Devon worked for me as a mobile and club dj on and off from 2002-2006. I became friends with him shortly after he started working for me. We soon found out we had a lot in common. We both loved hockey, music and wrestling. In 2004 WWE RAW and Smackdown came to Winnipeg. Devon stood in line for 6 hours and got tickets for me, my two boys and 4 other friends. He was so excited at the event he was like a little kid. Devon had a unique sense of humour that made me laugh every time I saw him. When he was in broadcasting school one of his assignments was to make a commercial. He used his assignment to make a commercial for my dj company which of course was hilarious. I am extremely happy that he got to live his dream as a radio jock. I am profoundly sad that his voice has been silenced as I am sure he would have gone on to be one of the greats. Everyone who listened to him or was lucky enough to have gotten to know him will truly miss him. RIP Z - Posted by: Bob Somerfeld (friend) on: Nov 07, 2014

You were like a little boy in a candy shop when we talked about the flames, ya flamer sore a**, that name will never live down. I will always be grateful for the many many nights you talked me through my darkest hours and reminded me of the silver lining. My heart will forever be saddened that the last time I attempted to get in touch I only perused your facebook thinking there will be another night to write you and see how things are. I love you! I always will. Sleep Peaceful My Friend ♡ - Posted by: EmJae (Friend ) on: Nov 06, 2014
