WILLIAM (BILL) CUNLIFFE June 6 , 1957 - November 8, 2014 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Bill Cunliffe at his home in Lac du Bonnet. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 33 years, Debbie, children Adam (Andrea) and Chelsey, granddaughter Avery, parents-in-law Ed and Elsie Worona, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and many friends. Bill grew up in Oakville, Ontario and after joining the RCMP in 1979, his first posting brought him to Lac du Bonnet, Manitoba. It was here that he met and married Debbie, and together they built their life and family as Bill's career took them around the country. He proudly retired from the RCMP after 29 years and began work at AECL, returning to Lac du Bonnet with Debbie to build their dream home on the Winnipeg River. He loved having his kids at "the cottage," especially to take out the boat. Bill approached everything he did with passion and integrity; never settling for less than his best. For all who were lucky enough to know Bill his absence will be immeasurable, but he will be forever remembered for his welcoming nature, warm spirit and genuine heart. A private memorial service has taken place. In lieu of flowers, your donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation are much appreciated. • Please accept our sincerest condolences to your family. I had just met Bill a few months ago when he joined the Board of Directors of the Lac du Bonnet Foundation as Treasurer. Bill took on this new position with enthusiasm and authority and showed that he would be a strong and supporting member of the Board in his new capacity. He was likable and genuine with much to offer. It is truly a loss hard to understand. He will be missed by all who knew him. ............ • Debbie, I do not expect that you will remember me, but I will never forget the kindness shown to me by Bill and yourself in the summer of 1983 when I worked as a Special Student Constable in Grand Marais. Bill was a great mentor, always patient and willing to explain things I did not understand. I admired the way he treated and respected others - a true gentleman officer. My deepest condolences to you and your family. - Posted by: Del Gatherum () on: Nov 15, 2014

  • Dearest Debbie and family We were so sorry to hear of Bill's passing. He will never be forgotten by us. How we remember our fun times many years ago; he was a fun person to have around and his siren going off every-time he went by was fun especially when we realised it was Bill just saying hi! Many memories. God bless you and keep you in his care. Sympathies also to your mom and dad. - Posted by: Alvin and Elaine Bauschke (fried) on: Nov 14, 2014
