GISELA ANITA MUELLER (nee JESSE) It is with great love and heavy hearts that we say farewell to a very special person. Surrounded by her family, Mom slipped into the waiting arms of her Lord and Saviour on Friday, November 14, 2014. Mom leaves to mourn and celebrate her life Herbert, her husband of 58 years; one daughter and four sons, Doris (Rolf) Kannwischer, Ralph (Bonnie), Wilf (Sharlene), Harvey (Cindy), Mark (Monika) Mueller; as well as her grandchildren Lisa, Scott (Lindsay), Kyle, Christian, Kelsey, Elan, Breanna, Allison (Mark), Jessica, Ryan, Kristen, Britta, Carson; and one great-grandson Riley. She will also be sadly missed by her brother Ernie Jesse; her sisters Renate (Reinhold) Hilscher, Elfriede Weihe; and sister-in-law Lydia Jesse; as well as many relatives and friends. Gisela was predeceased by one daughter at birth; her parents Friedrich and Hulda Jesse; and her brother Paul Jesse. Gisela was born on October 28, 1932, in Notsch, Poland. In 1945, after the war, the family fled their homestead for Badgrund, Germany, where they were eventually reunited with their father. In 1949 Gisela accepted Christ as her personal Saviour at a youth rally and she was baptized in 1950 in Deringhausen by her uncle, Rev. Waldemar Laser. In 1951 Gisela left her family behind and immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada, where she became an active member of McDermot Avenue Baptist Church. In 1952 her parents and three of her siblings also immigrated to Winnipeg where they had a joyous reunion. In 1954 she met Herb Mueller at choir practise and a few years later they were married on June 9, 1956. In 1959 they purchased Quick Transfer and together they built up the family business and raised their five children. McDermot Avenue Baptist Church played an important part in our mom's life. She loved to sing in the choir and blessed many when she sang. Mom encouraged many people with the cards and notes that she would send and she served many with her gift of hospitality. There was always room for one more at the table! Mom made the best chicken noodle soup! In the past year mom faced many health challenges with courage and grace and we were privileged to witness her strength and have many special moments with her. The family wishes to thank the staff at Misericordia Cornish 6 and Bethania Personal Care Home for their loving care. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2014, at McDermot Avenue Baptist Church, 821 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. Interment will follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to Camp Nutimik or McDermot Avenue Baptist Church Capital Fund.

  • The Muellers were wonderful friends of my parents at breakfast and supper every day at Concordia Village until my parents passed away in January and February of 2013. She was always cheerful with a friendly word. When my mother died 31 days after my father, she said to me " your parents are together again forever in Heaven ". deepest sympathy. God will wipe away all out tears. - Posted by: Reinhold Pauls (son of the Muellers Meal companions Heinrich & Justa Pauls) on: Jan 25, 2015

  • I had a wonderful opportunity to look after Gizzy and to meet the wonderful family she and your dad had raised...she was truly an amazing "Lady" and an inspiration to me...I have thought of each and every one of you often and kept her in my nightly prayers hoping that she would be alright...she sits in heaven now, watching over all of you and smiling proud. You will miss her dearly, but remember how her face lit up when everyone sang to her, or when you walked in the door to visit..she knew she was loved...I liked laying on her bed with her and cuddling making her feel safe, teasing her in a good way, joking around, telling stories and hearing about how important family is...she taught me to appreciate the small things in life and embrace every day as if it were the last....cherish your memories and keep each other close....I miss you too My Gizzy....Xoxoxo. • It was a privilege to spend time with your wife, mother, grandma and friend. During my time with her, it was evident she was a joker with a good sense of humor. And even though she couldn't serve me she make a point of telling me to go make a sandwich after doing something for her. What a very sweet lady. I send my deepest sympathies and prayers to all that knew this incredible women. - Posted by: Brandon Scott (HCA - Friend) on: Nov 23, 2014

  • Last spring, I visited my father at Deer Lodge. I was fortunate to have also met your mother. She was a kind person who welcomed me with her warm and friendly smile. She often spoke of her children but when she mentioned the grandchildren, her face would light up. I know you will all miss her. I am saddened with your loss. Please accept my deepest sympathy. - Posted by: Rose (visitor at Deer Lodge) on: Nov 21, 2014

  • Every spring your dear Mom would lovingly plant your flowers in front of your home. I'll miss her doing that! She did it, not as another task that needed to be done, but with love! She always had a welcoming smile for anyone and everyone! Your heart will ache for her, but you know she's in the best place anyone could be, so be comforted in that! Life goes on! - Posted by: Mr. Jim Elias & Mrs. Maureen Melvin-Elias (Neighbour) on: Nov 20, 2014

  • Praying for the Mueller clan at this sad time as we say goodbye to Tante Gisela. You will be missed very much Tante. I am so glad that I had the chance to stay with you for a few days and learn so much more about you and the family. You were a very special lady and I will miss chatting with you out at the lake as I would go past your trailer. Listening to you singing was beautiful also. Heaven's choir will be singing even more beautiful songs. Miss you very much Tante, but God knew that you were tired and needed to go home. Your face is smiling over us all now. Abschied Tante Gisela, bis wir uns wieder treffen. - Posted by: Sandra Mueller (Niece) on: Nov 19, 2014
