DENNIS DUDYCH October 18, 1942 - November 18, 2014 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Dennis, with his family by his side at the age of 72 years. He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Jeannie of 50 years, children Dee, Ron (Audrey), Sandra (Tom) Pochuk, Sheryl (Tim) Konechny, his dear grandchildren Kaitlan (Craig), Dylan, Jordyn, Kevin and Megan. He is also survived by his sister Adele (Joe) Ewanika, brothers Lorne (Gloria), Paul, sister-in-law Gloria and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Alex and Katie and his brother Peter. Dennis was born and raised in Hazelridge where he raised his family and took pride in farming. Dad was a welder by trade who recently celebrated his 50 year membership with Local 254 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union. He and Jeannie enjoyed their retirement at their cottage in Lac du Bonnet and travelling to Yuma in the winters where they made lifelong friends who will also miss him dearly. He appreciated and relished in the simple things of life. He was a great provider and family meant everything to him. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren and all of their accomplishments. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, picking blueberries and mushrooms. He could fix anything and was thrilled to lend a hand wherever and whenever it was needed. Dennis had fun playing cards, especially cribbage. Music was also a big part of Dad's life where he enjoyed entertaining people with his amazing fiddle playing and his ability to play by ear. He loved to have a good time, making friends wherever he went. He always said "You work hard, you play hard" and that is exactly what he did. Thank you to our friends and family for your love and support shown to our Dad and family. Dennis' pallbearers will be his grandchildren, but we want everybody to consider themselves honorary pallbearers, for you all were very dear to him. Divine Liturgy will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Church in Cooks Creek with Father Taras Kowch officiating. Interment will follow at the Pine Ridge Cemetery in Birds Hill Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Mesothelioma Foundation, 4302-50 Yorkville Avenue, Toronto, ON M4W 0A3. www.seasonsfunerals.ca
