ARNOLD HALLSON MAY 25, 1924 - NOVEMBER 17, 2014 Sadly on Monday, November 17, 2014, Arnold passed away at the Seven Oaks Hospital. Arnold was born in Winnipeg on May 25, 1924. He was predeceased by his parents Gisli & Gudrun; his brothers Petur, Eirikur and Herbert his sister Ann; his sisters-in-law Audrey and Marlene and his brother-in-law Tom. He is survived by his nieces and nephews Norman Hallson (Barb), Cheryl Kristiansen (Gary), Wayne Hallson, Heather Hallson, Linda Loszchuk (Dave), Tom Penway, Rod Penway, Gary Penway (Renee), Lorna Hallson and Jeff Hallson along with many great nieces and nephews and his long time friend, his dog King. Arnold leaves behind many friends, neighbors and family. He always enjoyed a good road trip and a good game of cards. He could always be counted on to help others out in times of need. Arnold farmed with his brother Eiki and his sister-in-law Audrey on the family farm in Hayland (Vogar) raising cattle until retirement. Arnold always had a spectacular garden despite the lack of maintenance and sometimes rain. He will be missed by all of us who grew up with him as part of the family and in the end, he was our family. Arnold had a knack for remembering all the names of all his friends and family, their children, their spouses, who married who and when. He was a living historian of all the people he knew. Uncle Arnold had a great sense of humor and a sharp wit that he demonstrated at family gatherings. His greatest skill was his supreme supervisory abilities which he displayed regularly during the spring planting season, yard work and any other job around the farm that required supervision. We will miss you. A memorial service will be held in his honour at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 24, 2014 at the Siglunes Community Hall with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Interment to follow at a later date in the Oakview Cemetery. Arrangements by: ARNASON FUNERAL HOME Ashern - Lundar 1-204-768-2072 1-866-323-3593
