Date of Passing: Nov 19, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySARAH DARLENE MARGARET STEWART Darlene ended her determined fight with cancer, early Wednesday morning, November 19, 2014, at the Johnson Memorial Hospital, Gimli, MB. Darlene was a strong-willed, tough, open-minded woman, with an unflinching drive to support those needing help. A Veteran of 22 years in the Canadian Forces, she retired with the rank of Sargent. She was a consummate professional, and a proud NCO, who exhibited in every way, all that is at the heart of Canadian Forces service. Darlene was a loving, gentle woman, absolutely devoted to ensuring the happiness of all with whom she came into contact. She shared a marriage with husband Arthur, marked by a brightly burning fire that maintained its intensity over 20 years. She was a wonderful, friend, protector, confidant, mentor, wife, lover and partner, who spread her love unselfishly to all she met, with kind and gentle enthusiasm. She is survived by her devoted husband Arthur Cramer; sister-in-law Rebecca (Mark) Binder and their daughter Anna; brother-in-law Phillip Cramer and his sons Aaron and John, Heather Sutherland; brother-in-law Gerry Bruneau; relatives Caroline Cramer, Q.C. (Ray Drobko), and Dr. Elaine Cramer (Dr. David Gerring) and their daughters Hannah and Aviva. Grateful thanks are extended to the staff of Seven Oaks and Johnson Memorial Hospital Oncology clinics for their dedicated and loving care of Darlene. A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor Darlene's memory. Live every day as though it is the first day of your life, as did Darlene. There are no words to express the loss the world is feeling without Darlene. If angels ever walked on the earth, Dar was one of them. Her spirit and strength inspired many, and I don't believe she realized what a gift she was to the world. I am grateful and blessed by all of the memories I have of Darlene. Until we meet again my friend... until we meet again. xo - Posted by: Georgina Knight (Soul Sister) on: Nov 22, 2014

Arthur, Nick and I are very sad and send out our love to you. I only wish I could find a love as warm, wonderful and caring as the two of you have. I danced at your wedding and now I cry at Darlene's passing. I found some wonderful words I would like to share as they sum up how I feel. They are: I will miss you As the days and years pass I will miss you As the pain of grief softens I will miss you As new memories are made I will miss you As I smile and laugh I will miss you Today and every day I will miss you. Take care Darlene, I am glad I got to know you, laugh with you, share celebrations with you. I so sorry you had such a difficult struggle, but I am a better person for knowing you. Nick and I will miss you. Barb and Nick - Posted by: Barb (Friend) on: Nov 22, 2014

Darlene's passion for life shone through in all she did. She constantly wore a smile or was filled with laughter and always had kindness in her heart for friends and strangers alike. She will be sorely missed by us but always in our hearts. Of all the many things she taught me, the one that sticks in my mind most is to remind myself to Live, Love and Laugh. Sincere condolences and much love to Arthur and family. Miss you already Dar. - Posted by: Char & Frank Martel () on: Nov 22, 2014

Darlene was the kind of person who exuded warmth, confidence, strength, compassion, and friendliness. She was always ready to provide a shoulder to lean or cry on and, when she felt you were ready, she would provide advice that was (almost always) spot on. My life is better for knowing her. Dar....you will be missed in body, but with us always in spirit. Rest in peace sweet Lady. - Posted by: Darren Manley (Friend) on: Nov 22, 2014
