Gladys was an extremely caring and thought filled lady. One example of this would be the countless number of 'sleeping bags' she made, hand sewn, for the homeless in Winnipeg. The numerous donations she sent to help those in need here and beyond reflected her kindness. Gladys shared her time with her many friends and often provided them with transportation to and from appointments whenever she could. She was an old soul often sharing in wonderful stories of the days past and the ones that were not so wonderful, but with deep thought and care she told the story like it was. She was a caregiver to any and everything that needed care. Her love for all God's creatures was evident as I remember her feeding them from her back step thru all the seasons. Making treats and necessary homes for birds, cats, and others that would take refuge in her accommodations. Gladys could revive any plant, grow the tallest of geraniums and the oldest most beautiful Hibiscus. Whatever 'popped up' in her garden would be cared for and loved! Gladys had deep respect for the beauty of the Rose. She grew them proudly and abundantly all the while teaching and talking about each with a smile. These few words only touch on who Gladys was and how I remember her. XO - Posted by: Kathleen August (Old friend) on: Dec 24, 2014
