Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFORBES WATSON MILNE Forbes passed away very peacefully at the Seven Oaks General Hospital in Winnipeg on November 26, 2014 at the age of 95 after a brief illness. Forbes was born in Winnipeg on November 13, 1919 (Friday the 13th !) to George and Jane (née Johnston) Milne, from Scotland. Forbes was the final survivor of the 11 Milne siblings born to George and Jane, so his luck was not all that bad despite the birthdate. Forbes is survived by his wife Nadia (née Pollick) whom he wed on September 20, 1940; and by his daughter Marlene (Ted Clarke), their sons William Clarke (Christy) of Chilliwack and Robert Clarke (Zheng RuiZhen) of Edmonton, and five young great-grandchildren (Benjamin, Michael, Cailey, Meikayla, and Caitlyn). Forbes and Nadia were proud to celebrate their 74th wedding anniversary earlier this year. Forbes spent most of his career with the CNR, where he became Chief of the Tariff Bureau at Union Station in Winnipeg. Late in his career, he transferred to the Canadian Transport Commission, as Regional Transportation Advisory Officer, from which position he retired. Forbes also served in Europe with the RCAF through much of the Second World War. Both before and after retirement, Forbes and Nadia frequently travelled, most often to Florida and Texas, but also to Mexico and Spain. Forbes and Nadia, long-time residents of West Kildonan, lived since 2010 at Amber Meadow. Forbes was a kindly and courteous man, greatly loved by all who knew him, and a devoted husband and father and grandfather and great-grandfather. In accordance with Forbes' wishes, he has already been cremated, and there will be no service, other than a private family gathering at a later date. We thank the hospital staff very much for their compassionate care. FRIENDS FUNERAL SERVICE 204-339-5555
