Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANTONIA (TONI) PELLAND FIOLA (nee MARION) Peacefully, on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, Antonia passed away at the age of 90. Antonia leaves to cherish her memory, her children Joanne (John) Pelletier, Monique (Randy) Neuls, Pauline Webster, Suzanne (Jack) Stewart and Gilles (Gloria) Pelland, her 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, her sister Dolores Tailleur, brother Philibert (Agathe) Marion, sister-in-law Florence Marion. Over the years, she felt deeply the loss of beloved family and friends, including her siblings Ovide, Denise, Amédée, Roméo and Laurence and her treasured daughter Monique. She felt a lifelong connection to her siblings, their spouses, her many nephews, nieces and their children. Antonia loved her birth place of Ste. Elizabeth and St. Norbert, where she lived for 30 years with her husband David Pelland and where they raised their children. She will be laid to rest in St. Norbert at the parish cemetery but her heart will always be in St. Boniface where she returned in 1981. She dedicated her life to nurturing others and sharing her enjoyment of life in so many ways, from making costumes and creating warm, memorable celebrations for her children and their families, to loving her 17 years at The Paddlewheel Restaurant in The Bay, to cross country skiing with her dearest friend Lilianne Dorge. We remember her best for her unconditional smiles and love of humming a tune. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 9 at 2:00 p.m. at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons Street. Interment of her cremated remains will take place at a later date in the St. Norbert Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Paroisse de la Cathédrale de Saint-Boniface, Attention Projet Laos, 190 avenue de la Cathédrale, Saint-Boniface, MB R2H 0H7. When I first met Antonia, thru my relationship with her daughter, Suzanne, I discovered a very warm and caring person who took the lead role in welcoming me into her family. It wasn't long before I felt I was fully part of those fun and very generous family events which were such an important part of Antonia's life—her always making certain that everyone felt included and welcome and well fed. That welcoming nature and ability to make everyone feel comfortable were characteristics which came very naturally to her. There are not so many places in our lives where we feel instantly at ease and appreciated for our presence. Wherever we found Antonia, was always one of those rare places.
