ERNA ENNS February 4, 1942 - December 2, 2014 Peacefully following a brief illness it is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Erna. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 53 years, Peter, son Bernie Enns, daughter Rita Goertz, grandchildren Melissa and Alyssa, sisters, Edith Witt and Lottie Beutel (ex husband Henry Beutel), sisters-in-law Martha and Rosy Herbstreit, as well as many nieces and nephews. Erna was predeceased by her brothers Alfred and Oscar Herbstriet, sister Ida Unterschultz, brothers-in-law Alfred Unterschultz and Herbert Witt, niece Wendy Sommerfeld, son-in-law John Goertz, and her parents Elizabeth and Freidrich Herbstreit. Erna was a special lady. She was understanding and patient, smart and helpful. She went out of her way to help family and friends. Erna liked to have everyone treated fairly and would be sure to help those who she felt weren't being treated so. Erna loved her grandchildren and played a big part in their growing-up. She was the best Oma ever. She was involved in encouraging the girls education and was proud of their accomplishments. When Melissa and Alyssa practiced piano it would give her comfort in her sickness. She lived her life giving away freely her most valuable asset to others, her time. She spent the last of her life caring for her husband Peter till she could not do it anymore. She is now being cared for by our Heavenly Father . Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 8, 2014 at Abundant Life Lutheran Church, 3486 Raleigh Street, East St Paul. one half km north of Hoddinott.
