BRENDA JESSICA KLAPPRAT (GREENWOOD)
Born: Jan 08, 1943
Date of Passing: Dec 09, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBRENDA JESSICA KLAPPRAT (nee GREENWOOD) January 8, 1943 - December 9, 2014 It is with very heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our most loved mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend, Brenda Klapprat on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at the age of 71 years. Brenda leaves to mourn her daughters Pamela (Bob), Gail (Rob) and Sandra (Jarrett) as well as the lights of her life - her grandchildren Katrina, Erik, Justin, Lily, Ryan and Lauren. She also leaves to mourn her siblings Richard Greenwood, Gary Greenwood (Carmen) and Margo Witzke (Alf) as well as many other family members and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Klapprat, infant daughter Angela, her mother and father Natalie and Thomas Richard Greenwood, in-laws Erna and Ferdinand Klapprat. Mom was born in Winnipeg on January 8, 1943. She was raised in Thalberg, Portage and Beconia. In 1961, she married Lawrence Klapprat and together they raised three daughters. She was a stay at home mom until the girls reached their teenage years. She then started working at the Beausejour Kids Centre where she remained for 25 years. It was the perfect job for her as she loved being around children. She fondly spoke about the many children that passed through the daycare doors and figured that she probably changed about 20,000 diapers. An avid gardener, her flower gardens were beautiful and envied by many. Mom loved to be out and about, sharing smiles and conversations with anyone she met. She enjoyed going to church, floor curling, volunteering at Togs & Treasures and Meals on Wheels, going for lunch on Fridays with her siblings, going for car rides, bike rides and spending time with her good friend Elaine. But her favorite thing to do was to spend time with family - especially her grandchildren. She was always willing and able to help out with any one of the grandchildren, whether picking them up from school, babysitting them when needed and taking care of them when they were sick. She loved the times at the lake with Lily and Lauren, cheering on Katie, Erik, Justin and Ryan at their hockey games. All of the grandchildren knew where the cookies were kept at her place! She kept a daily journal - writing what the weather was for that day, what she did, where she went and even what the scores were on the curling games that she loved to watch. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Beausejour. Should you so desire, donations may be made in Mom's memory to the Zion Lutheran Church, 403 First Street North, Box 968, Beausejour, Manitoba, R0E 0C0. Rest in peace mom. We love you so very much and miss you terribly. SOBERING FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, Beausejour 268-3510 or MB Toll Free 1-877-776-2220 www.soberingfuneralchapel.com

Pam, Gail, Sandy, and families, Aunt Brenda was one of the kindest souls I've ever met. Always smiling, and such an infectious giggle. Her eyes would light up the room. It's so sad that she left so young, but anybody that met her can be glad that they had an opportunity to be in her presence. What a wonderful woman. Please take care, Doug - Posted by: Doug Germaine (Nephew) on: Dec 15, 2014

I first met Brenda when she worked at the kids centre in Beausejour. She was one of the day care workers who looked after my two sons Michael and Andrew about 25 years ago. She always had a smile and took such good care of them. We were to meet again when I retired and moved to Burgoyne Station to become her neighbour. We met a few times at the parking lot, both getting to leave in our cars and of course at the functions at Burgoyne and at Togs & Treasures. She will be missed by all who knew her. My thoughts and best wishes go out to the family. May she now rest in peace. - Posted by: LOIS SZALAI (FRIEND AND NEIGHBOUR) on: Dec 15, 2014

My first ever memory is being at Auntie Brenda's! She treated me like one of her girls and loved me as much! She always made a point of coming to see me and Bodie when we came down from Gillam. We will treasure those visits with "Auntie Grandma". What makes this easier is that Auntie spent the last few days of her life with family and being extremely happy and having fun! We will miss you - till me meet again. Love you xoxo - Posted by: Krista Semenchuk (Niece ) on: Dec 14, 2014

So sorry to hear of Brenda's passing. We spent many hours at each other's houses as we grew up. She was always kind and helpful whatever the cause. I never did meet her children but send condolences to each one, also Richard, Gary and Margo. God be with you all at this time knowing that you will see her again because of Jesus Christ. - Posted by: Eileen Struss (Patzer) (Friend and neighbour in Thalberg) on: Dec 14, 2014

Sad to hear of Brenda's death. As childhood friends at Beaconia we played for hours with her large collection of paper dolls. Before even reading the obituary I thought, I bet Brenda had a large loving family and loved children. Too bad we never met again as adults. - Posted by: Adele Duff (Childhood friend ) on: Dec 13, 2014

Our deepest Sympathy to Brenda's family. We were a family here at Burgoyne Station and enjoyed our Christmas gathering on December 3rd/14. That evening we had such a wonderful meal together & with the help of Grace Honke we were all singing Christmas Carols. We shall always treasure our good times with Brenda as she was truly a very Special friend. May she RIP. - Posted by: Helene & Lou Savisky (Fellow resident at Burgoyne Station & friends) on: Dec 13, 2014
