I lived across the back lane from Miss Nelson for the better part of 20 years. I remember the old house well with the shake siding and Kenny's studebaker in the back yard. Miss Nelson was always very kind and even though the house was 'scary' to many kids, she always let us cut thru the yard. Although she will always be a part of my childhood, I enjoyed getting to know her as an adult. Birds Hill will not be the same without her.
