LAWRENCE ARTHUR HEAD
Born: Mar 09, 1925
Date of Passing: Dec 29, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLAWRENCE ARTHUR HEAD March 9, 1925 - December 29, 2014 It is with deep sorrow the family announces the passing of our father, grandfather, great- grandfather, uncle and friend, Lawrence on December 29, 2014 at Tuxedo Villa. He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Audrey in 2008, his parents Arthur and Rose Head, and his sister Anne Laliberty. He is survived by his children, Bonnie (Ken) Flockton, Don (Debbie), and Shelley (Mark) Pankiw, as well as eight grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren whom each had a very special place in his heart. He had a very special friend, Germaine Duval, who, in the last few years, was with him every step of the way. There are numerous nieces and nephews, who he treated like his own children. Dad joined the army at a young age and made it overseas to fulfill his duty successfully and proudly. Larry/Laurie as he was known to many, married Audrey in May 1947 and shortly thereafter began their family. They enjoyed family, friends and travel and of course the cabin where many gatherings occurred, including horseshoe tournaments and card games for many years. There were many family camping expeditions, through Canada and the United States. Trailering was a passion, as evidenced by the too numerous to mention different units he owned. Besides these interests, he always had a passion for music and dancing, and if Aud and Larry were on the dance floor, all eyes were on them, as those two people moved as one to the music. In later years, they had many trips to Las Vegas, and acted as Ambassadors to the many family and friends who visited them during their winter vacations. Larry was employed with T. Eaton Co. for many years retiring early allowing them to enjoy more time to travel. As a couple, they were extremely respected as evidenced by the many lifelong friends they made over the years. He will be greatly missed. Rest in peace Dad and Grandpa, we love you and miss you. The family would like to thank the entire staff on Unit 2 at the Tuxedo Villa for all their care and compassion shown towards Larry. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons Street. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Larry's name to a charity of your choice. Desjardins 233-4949 1-888-233-4949 www.desjardinsfuneralchapel.ca

Words can not express the Love your father showed towards your family and friends. We have never met a man who had a smile on his face, even through times of weaknesss, and always had only good words to share with friends. Shelly, your dad was such a positive man and We so looked forward to seeing him at every family function that we were invited to. I now know where you got your unconditional Love from. Our prayers are with you today, tomorrow and always, Love You, Patty and Ken - Posted by: Ken & Pat Carr () on: Jan 05, 2015

Words can't describe what an amazing person this man was. He took so much pride in his family, he loved like there was no tomorrow and was the best role model. I looked up to my Papa for everything. He was the one person that I felt was proud of me no matter what. I was fortunate to have him come to spend Christmas with our family and I'm so happy he did. He smiled the entire time and the last words he told me was "I looooove you too!" I will miss him so so much. Papa, you've fought so hard. You can rest easy now. Thank you Germaine for loving my Papa, you've made him so happy. - Posted by: Kaitlyn Sayavong (Granddaughter ) on: Jan 03, 2015

A very special thank you to his sweetie Germaine: Who gave him hope and joy over these past few years. You were his light at the end of the tunnel and gave him reason to smile again after Nanas passing. His family will forever be grateful for you allowing Papa to once again look forward to the next day and it gives comfort in knowing he had someone to spend his every day with again. He was very blessed to have such a selfless and loving woman in his life, who gave him strength to make it through this last year of his journey. He had such a struggle this whole last year, and I know personally he didn't fight for himself but for the people he loved in his life- he fought to keep going for them. Nothing meant more to him than his family and he left such an impact on me by demonstrating what it means to love passionately through the years (whether it was his loved ones or his best friend Missy). I love you tremendously Papa, until we meet again I'll be loving you each day. - Posted by: Ashley (Grand daughter ) on: Jan 03, 2015
