RAYMOND SCHNEIDER On Friday, December 26, at the age of 66 years, with his family and friends by his side, Raymond's generous loving heart stopped beating. Ray was predeceased by his parents and older brother Ken. Left to forever cherish Ray's memory are his best friend and sweetie Carol, his son Andrew Doherty, daughters, Stephanie Doherty Baldwin (Curt), Erin Baldwin (Ryan) and Lauren Grey (Ryan), seven grandchildren, sister Eileen Colp, one niece and nephew and many cousins. Our dear cat "Sox" is hunting everywhere for her daddy and Ray has finally been reunited with his beloved border collie "Teddy". Although Ray left us far too soon, he was a strong and principled man, setting a fine example for others. Ray grew up in Winnipeg working alongside his dad, Gus in a landscaping business. After graduation in 1969, Ray joined RCMP Troop 6 in Regina and proudly served as a RCMP in Toronto until 1984, when he returned to Winnipeg and joined CSIS until his retirement in 1998. Ray longed to live in the country and quickly settled in Arnes in 1998, where he eventually started a small landscaping business. Ray and Carol loved gardening, boating, travelling and camping with their pets. Ray's passions were driving his tractor and restoring antique trucks. He also enjoyed meeting with his buddies at Jad's for coffee and relaxing with our close friends, entertaining us with his stories and great sense of humour. I like to thank our friends and neighbours for all their kindness and help. A celebration of Ray's life will take place at Gimli Lutheran Church, January 7, at 1:30 p.m. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com

To the family and Eileen, I have just learned of Ray's passing and my heartfelt condolences. Although Ray and I drifted apart a number of years ago, I have fond memories of us working at the Safeway store on Portage Avenue. - Posted by: Bruce Monnery (Co-worker and friend) on: Jul 02, 2019

I was so saddened and surprised to see that Ray had passed away recently. I knew Ray at Pearson Airport ...which I believe was his first assignment after graduating from Regina. As all of the above comments...even as a young man Ray was very funny, very smart, very quick witted, incredibly handsome and so fun to be with. We tooled around Toronto and area in that funny red car of his which I think was a Baracuda. For several months we had a lot of fun together with so many silly moments and then one day it was time for him to transfer downtown to a vice deployment and we lost touch. I thought about him from time to time throughout the years wondering how he was doing. So happy to read that he had such a fulfilling life with his family including pets. Rest In Peace Ray. You are fondly remembered. Dayle - Posted by: Dayle Aird (young adult friends) on: Apr 02, 2015

Ray and I were partners in Toronto for two years from 1975 and 1976. We had some great adventures and I learned lots from Ray! Ray and I dealt with some interesting investigations. I will always remember Ray as a great Mountie and friend! God bless you Rsy.,. Brian. Zelenika - Posted by: Brian zelenika (RCMP partner in Toronto ) on: Feb 03, 2015

Ray was my neighbor in Arnes. I knew I could always call on him for a hand. He would share a story of his children, have a joke or two with my little girls and always lending an ear. He used to pretend to chase my girls down the road with his tractor, my how they would laugh!! We have since moved out of Arnes, but have often thought about those warm sunny days when we would see Ray more often, always tinkering around his yard. Ray had known my father from his time in the RCMP and would always share a funny story about my dad that I wouldn't have otherwise known. Ray, you were a big Ray of sunshine, compared to my daughter "little Ray". May you rest in peace and watch over everything you knew and loved. My warmest condolences to Carol and your family. Ray, you will be missed. xox - Posted by: Karen (friend) on: Jan 23, 2015

To Carol Fox and Family My Deepest Sympathy in the loss of Raymond. Though I had only known Ray for a short period he was a friendly person and one who always had a story to tell. I will remember his smile and hand shake when meeting him at Jads store in Arnes. He loved helping his neighbors do yard work and no matter how small the job was he there with his garden tractor. He will be missed and remembered by everyone at Silver Harbour. - Posted by: Richard Evasiuk (Friend) on: Jan 04, 2015
