Kay was predeceased by her husband Fred in 1991 and son Bruce in 2012. She is lovingly remembered by her children Brian (Darlene), Cathy, Perry-Lynne (Jerry), Ron (Karen), Margaret (Dwayne), Ted (Jenelle) and her grandchildren Ashley and Bobby, Jessica, Melissa (Russell) and Stephanie, Kendall (Chad) and Kyle (Chelsey), Tanner, Katie and Kiana, her great-grandchildren Ava, Davis, Carys, Dexter and Taylor, as well as Kay's sisters, brother, extended family, and friends. Kay was born in Meleb, Manitoba and was raised on the family farm. She married Fred on February 2, 1952, and after a brief stay in Edmonton, the family moved to Gimli. Kay moved to Selkirk in 2011. She enjoyed spending much of her time cooking for the many family dinners and celebrations over the years. Kay also enjoyed curling, gardening, bingo, and puzzles. The memorial service will be held at Gilbart's Funeral Chapel, 309 Eveline Street, Selkirk, on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Peter Chorney officiating. The family would like to say a special "Thank You" to the doctors and staff of the Selkirk General Hospital who cared for mom with kindness and compassion.
