MARGARET ROSE PYLATUK (nee PROCURE) In the early morning hours of January 3, 2015, Margaret Rose Pylatuk continued her life journey and slipped away from this earth to join her husband, Sam. She was married to Dad for 57 years and when he left to reside in paradise, Mom's heart was broken. When you find your true love you just know it. Mom was born on a farm in Tisdale, Saskatchewan on April 28, 1939, so hard work was a way of life. Mom and Dad lived in Winnipeg for many years before moving to Winnipeg Beach to enjoy their retirement years. Mom developed a passion in later years for Bingo with her friends and daughter Sandy. Mom loved to garden and there was no better place than her big yard in Winnipeg Beach. She beamed with pride when friends and neighbours would comment on her beautiful yard. The center of Mom's universe was her family. In her later years, Mom dealt with health issues, but those seemed to melt away when her family came to visit. Last fall, after Dad passed away, Mom got involved with a charity in the Interlake called "Evergreen Basic Needs" and would donate toys to needy children, which was what Mom was all about. She is survived by her son Doug (Susan) Pylatuk, daughters Anna (Kevin) Duffy, Sandy (Mark) Pike and Tammy (Cary) Jonasson. She leaves to remember her, grandchildren Nick, Clayton, Jason, Samantha, Jennifer and Christopher, and great-grandson Riley. In lieu of flowers, Mom would have appreciated a donation to the Children's Wish Foundation in her name. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St., Winnipeg. Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • I just heard of Margaret's passing today. It will not be the same at the cabin without Margaret and Sam this summer. We would barely pull up and one of them would immediately come out of their house to say hi and welcome us. I was glad I was able to attend Sam's funeral and say goodbye. He was always there to help us with any little problem needing fixing. And Margaret was always so cheerful; I will miss our chats over the fence. I will think of them often when I am across the street at wpg beach. It will feel very wrong to not see them there. We will miss them both. - Posted by: Cindy Kasprick (Neighbour) on: May 23, 2015

  • So very sorry to hear about the passing of your Mom. She was a kind lady. My heart goes out to you all. - Posted by: Terry (Strauss) Sader (friend) on: Jan 07, 2015

  • We will truly miss Margaret as a friend and someone I looked up to. Margaret and I would bake my famous biscotti recipe and sometimes we would just bake all morning. I learned how to roll cabbage rolls in one hand. Margaret was talented and a great helper. Sam and Margaret would keep eye on my cabin. Sam and Margaret were the best neighbours and it won't be the same without them. - Posted by: filomena donaldson and Bruce donaldson (friends) on: Jan 07, 2015

  • I wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to the Pylatuk family. With love and kindness, The Dunnes. - Posted by: Keith Dunne (Colleague) on: Jan 07, 2015

  • A small mistake was made in your obituary today but it was done out of love. Your charity of choice was Evergreen Basic Needs in Gimli in order for your wish to come true, but let's face it any charity of anyone's choice will be a blessing to you. May you rest in peace up in heaven with dad, you are truly missed. I will say a prayer today that all of your children and grandchildren and all of your friends have some peace in their hearts as it is so hard now that you're gone but I promise to you and dad up in heaven that I will do my best so I can join you one day but for now I hope an angel is watching over you and may God bless us all one day. xoxo love you mommy and daddy. - Posted by: tammy jonasson (daughyter) on: Jan 07, 2015

  • We wish to extend our sincere sympathy to your family. - Posted by: Alex & Pat Keen, Regina, Sk (Margaret's cousin. Our Dad's were brothers. My dad was Art Procure.) on: Jan 07, 2015
