MARY THIESSEN (nee DERKSEN) June 16, 1924 - January 5, 2015 Mary's peaceful death at age 90 occurred on January 5, 2015 with dignified care at the Boyne Lodge in Carman, Manitoba. Mary was not afraid to pass, and she knew it was her time to join her husband and love of her life, Cornie, who she missed dearly. Mary was thankful to the nurses and staff at the lodge for their care and attention during her stay there. Mary was predeceased by her husband Cornelius (Cornie), mother and father David and Suzanna Derksen, brothers David, Peter, Isaac and Bill and her sister Tien. Mary is survived by her children Barry (Cheryl) Thiessen, Shirley (Len) Harder and her sisters Agnes Giesbrecht, Olga Hildebrand and Susan Rempel. She is also survived by her grandchildren Shaun (Nikki) and Daryl (Devon), David, Susan and Lora (Todd) and great-grandchildren Crystal (Mike), Ellessar, Andrea, Jordan, Tiara and Jadein and great-great-grandchildren Dawson and Mallory. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held at Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Hwy, Winnipeg, MB on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers it is requested that donations be made to charity of donor's choice. At mom's request there will be no viewing and interment will be held at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.

I am eternally grateful to Barry for bringing my mom (her sister) for a Christmas visit, which was greatly appreciated & enjoyed by both...never thinking this would be the last Christmas they would spend together on this earth.
