Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySOPHIE DION (nee BOKLASCHUK) September 22, 1931 January 8, 2015 On January 8, 2015, Sophie passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Park Manor Personal Care Home at the age of 83. Sophie was born on September 22, 1931 in North Battleford, SK. Sophie was predeceased by her parents Mike and Minnie Boklaschuk, her husband Arthur Dion, her daughter Brenda Rose Dion, and her brother Bobby Boklaschuk. Sophie was also predeceased by her very close and dear friends Alex and Cathie Gibson. Sophie is survived by her daughter Shirley, granddaughter Shadeen, siblings Barb Gould (Bob), Beverley Boklaschuk, Dave Boklaschuk (Maisie deceased), Ernie Boklaschuk (Grace deceased) and Joanne Boklaschuk. Also nieces Kaeley, Kristine, Donna, April, and nephews Michael (Steph), Gord (Marlene), Garry (Lenore), Glenn and Kirby, and close friends Rick and Carol Savage and Doug Kossack. Sophie and her family moved to Warren, MB to farm in 1948. She then met and married the love of her life Arthur on June 26, 1954. Family meant so much to Sophie in her day to day life and her pride and joy was her granddaughter Shadeen. Sophie loved her Ukrainian background, from making perogies to the "old time" dances; as well she spent many hours crocheting and knitting keepsakes for her family and friends. She also enjoyed all her "Critters" over the years. Bingo was a passion for Sophie. A special thank you to all the nurses and aids at Park Manor for all the wonderful care and attention she received. A special thanks to Joan for the extra TLC she gave to Mom. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, at 11:00 a.m., January 13, 2015, at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB. Rev. Bill Millar, close friend of the family will be officiating. Special thank you to Bill and Mary for their support and guidance through this difficult time.
