Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLGA WHITE (nee HOLOWCHUK) October 8, 1927 January 8, 2015 It is with great sadness that the family of Olga White announces her passing on January 8, 2015, at the age of 87 years. Olga was born in Savant Lake, ON, the youngest of six children. She will be greatly missed and not forgotten by her daughters Janie Savage, Janet McCalder (Richard) and Cathy Cameron, her sister Kathleen Sheppard, five grandchildren Karen Conroy, Lynn-Rae McCalder, Kimberley McCalder, Heather Dutkiewicz and Kerrie Cameron, and four great-grandchildren Shay-Lei and Keira Kum and Cameron and Quinn Dutkiewicz. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were very special to her. Olga was predeceased by her husband Reginald ("Reg"), her parents Pauline and Michael Holowchuk, her sisters Bernice Benson, Stella Blaschuk, her brothers Peter and William Holowchuk and her sons-in-law Wayne Savage and Don Cameron. Mom and Dad were married in 1947 after he sold his motorcycle to purchase her rings. Over the years Mom played baseball, curled and liked a good game of cribbage and pass the ace. She also enjoyed the many coffee times and suppers with her friends in Dryden. We thank the staff at Donwood Elderly Persons Housing for the extraordinary care and support always extended to Mom and her family. The excellent care of Dr. Macek and all staff at the Grace Hospital is also appreciated. A celebration of Mom's life will be held at Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Highway, on Friday, January 16, at 2:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or a charity of your choice. Dear Cathy and family. I have heard fond stories about your mother in my role as a volunteer group facilitator with the Alzheimer's Support Group. It was evident how passionate you were about helping your mom in every possible way! I hope that this tender love and your kind acts will comfort you as you mourn the loss of someone so dear to you. Olga was a coffee friend of mine when I was a young mother. We had a lot of laughs as we raised our children and enjoyed her company very much in the 1960's. My sympathies to her family. - Posted by: Marnie Glena (friend) on: Jan 14, 2015
