ISAAC WIEBE Peacefully on Sunday, January 11, 2014 Isaac Wiebe passed away at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, MB. Isaac was born in Plum Coulee, MB on January 29, 1928 to Abram and Anna Wiebe (nee Penner). Isaac was predeceased by his parents, four brothers, one sister and two daughters, Anna, still born, and Norma, to cancer in 1999. Isaac is survived by Helen, his loving wife of 63 years, their children, Barbara (Don Hooper) with children Monica, Wes Lillico and Kaitlyn and Steven Hooper; Edward (Diane) Wiebe, with son Mark Wiebe; Ken Wiebe; Wanda (Ed) Quennell, with children Maxwell and Aidan; and son-in-law Doug Mossington, with children Deborah and Kirsten. Isaac and Helen got married on April 22, 1951 and the first summer they settled in Deloraine. The next year Isaac found employment on a farm near Hartney, MB. Isaac was a smart man and that lead him to find employment at an electric shop in Hartney in 1952. He expanded his education by correspondence but also got a lot of on the job training. Needing more money to pay the bills, they moved to Estevan, SK in 1957 for five cents more an hour. This was now home for the Wiebes until 1964, when they moved to Winnnipeg and Isaac was employed at Sears as an appliance technician for 24 years. They bought a house in the Crestview area and still live in the same house. In Isaac's spare time, he took some training and became a driving instructor for high school students for 14 years as well. The family wishes to thank the staff and volunteers at the Grace General Hospital. A funeral service is planned for 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Crestview Fellowship Church, 271 Hamilton Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, with interment and reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crestview Fellowship Church Elevator Fund. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715
