ANNA MAKSYMCHUK (nee BIDOCHKA) December 1, 1922 - January 14, 2015 It is with heavy hearts, we announce that our beloved Mom and Baba, Anna, passed away, surrounded by her family at the Arborg and District Health Centre on January 14, 2015 at the age of 92. Surviving to mourn her loss are her children: Don (Audrey), Irene (Rick) Kordalchuk, Roger (Rosemarie), Jerry (Jeanne), and her precious grandchildren: Sandra (Jim) O'Toole, Laura Gaulden, Neil (Lisa) Kordalchuk, Patricia Kordalchuk, Michael Maksymchuk, David Maksymchuk, Michelle Maksymchuk, Krista (Dayton) Gegolick and Amanda Maksymchuk. Also, great-grandchildren Alexa, Rowan, and Rachel O'Tool, Ashley and Avery Gaulden, and Camp, Airianna and Asia Kordalchuk. She is also survived by her sisters Jean Lupky and Olga Chomokovski, and brother Mike Bidochka, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband Michael, her infant son Harold, her parents Tekla and Peter Bidochka, sisters Katherine (John), Pearl (Mike); brothers John, Metro (Julia), Nick and Tony; brothers-in-law Walter Chomokovski and Mike Lupky; niece Marge Barnett, and nephew Rodney Chomokovski. Mom and Dad married in 1941 and ran a mixed farm for many years. Mom had a difficult life looking after the farm while Dad worked at various jobs. Mom always took pride in her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. She loved to share the bounty of her labours to all who came. After moving to Sunrise Lodge in 2006, she made many friends and loved to socialize, playing cards and bingo. She especially enjoyed having tea with her friend Pearl Parada. She dearly appreciated her homecare workers and all the comfort they provided. Mom was a wonderful cook. One of her skills was to put together a delicious meal in 20 minutes. She loved making perogies, bread and her cinnamon buns and vinarterta were unbeatable. After Dad passed, Mom learned to crochet. She made afghans for her children, grandchildren, and their dolls and pets. Mom was not one to give up. She had a very determined spirit. This helped her through many struggles with health issues. Funeral Service will be held at Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Chapel on Monday, January 19, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Okno Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Arborg and District Health Centre. A Heart of Gold A heart of gold stopped beating Working hands at rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best. Leaves and flowers may wither, The golden sun may set But the hearts that loved you dearly Are the ones that won't forget. MACKENZIE FUNERAL HOME ARBORG (204) 467-2525 mackhome@mts.net
