NAPOLEON J.E. GAGNON March 1, 1924 January 18, 2015 Peacefully, on January 18, 2015, Dad passed away to be with our beloved mother, Bernice, who predeceased him on October 19, 2003. He is survived by his family, Pat (daughter), his son, Ron (Barb) and his daughter Michelle. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Mike, Jason (Quynh), Jacqueline, Danielle (Andrew), Nicole and Jacques and his only great-grandchild, Curtis. He also leaves behind numerous nephews and nieces, as well as his special friend, Léo Beaupré. Dad was an inspiration and our rock until the day he passed. In his youth, he joined the Royal Canadian Navy as a Merchant Seaman on a torpedo boat in the Second World War. He was an amazingly proud veteran and a hero. Later in life he married Mom, had three children and began raising his family. He was a Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus and a lifetime member of the Norwood Legion. He attended all our sporting events and coached Little League. Dad left us with many wonderful memories that we will cherish forever. This was his greatest gift of all. Be assured Papa Bear that we will honor your wishes and stay strong as a family. Love you Forever. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. A celebration of Dad's life will be held on Friday, January 23, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Norwood Legion, 134 Marion Street, officiated by Rev. Donald McKenzie. Leclaire Brothers 204-775-2220

  • To Pat, Ron and Michelle and all your families, I know your hearts are breaking to have to say goodbye to a wonderful Dad and Grandpa. But take comfort in all the wonderful memories you have to cherish forever not only of your Dad but your Mom as well. Your Dad, (my Uncle Nap) had such a zest for life and passed that on to all those around him. After being witness to the horrors of war, he appreciated life to the fullest and made the most out of every day. That is how I will remember him. I loved his stories and his great sense of humour and his laugh. I will miss him. - Posted by: Karen Kitching (Niece) on: Jan 22, 2015

  • Sincere sympathies to the Gagnon family, especially Pat and Michelle whom I have had the pleasure of meeting when your Dad moved to Le Chalet. We will miss his jokes and stories at meal times. He was always worried about his family members but now he can take care of you from above. He is in a much better place as the last few months were very hard on him and you. - Posted by: Jeanne Beaupre (Friend) on: Jan 22, 2015

  • I met Nap in July 2013 when he moved to Le Chalet in La Broquerie and I am forever grateful that he came into my life when he did, and Pat & Michelle as well. We planted tomatoes and flowers together and we were looking forward to doing it again this summer, but God had something else planned for him this year. He'll be missed but I'm sure he'll be close when I plant this year's crop of flowers. I plan on having a permanent tribute to him in our gardens here at Le Chalet. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. - Posted by: Angele Lord (Relative and friend) on: Jan 22, 2015

  • Our sympathy to Pat and your family! Your dad sold us our first house back in 1981 when he was in real estate and was a real gentleman and made an impression for me to still remember and value these times. RIP Mr. Gagnon - Posted by: Norbert Collette (friend) on: Jan 21, 2015
