KATHLEEN (KAYE) MCKENZIE Kathleen "Kaye" McKenzie (née Combs) died peacefully on Tuesday, January 20th, 2015 in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 86. A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, February 14th at 3:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery). KATHLEEN (KAYE) MCKENZIE Kathleen "Kaye" McKenzie (née Combs) died peacefully on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 86. Kaye is survived by her children, Alana (Norm), Donald (Donna), Brian and Scott, and grandchildren, Nadine (Michael), Kristin (Mike), Kayley (Tim), Heather, Emma, Chanelle, Joey, Thomas and Taylor. She is preceded in death by her husband Al. Kaye was born on April 17, 1928 in Deloraine, Manitoba to John and Nellie (Johnston) Combs. She graduated as an RN from the General Hospital (HSC) in 1950. Upon graduation, she took her first job in Swan River, Manitoba where she met Al who was working his first job with the Toronto Dominion Bank. Al's work with the bank and federal government took them to Fort William, Kenora, Moose Jaw, Regina, Calgary and then finally to Winnipeg in 1971. Over the many years, Kaye kept her circle of friends close. While raising four children, Kaye continued to work part-time and ended her nursing career with the VON in 1984. In retirement, Kaye was an active competitor with the South Interlake Golf Course, Assiniboine Curling Club and both the Westwood and Polo Park Bowling leagues. A celebration of her life is scheduled for Saturday, February 14 at 3:00 p.m. at the Neil Bardal Funeral Centre (3030 Notre Dame Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba). All are welcome to attend and celebrate Kaye's life.   • Sorry to hear about your mother's passing Don. She was a very nice person and we enjoyed her humor. I still chuckle about some of the topics we discussed when we were younger. She was very cool.
