Left to mourn her passing are: Her daughter Lea Ann Davies of Calgary, Alberta as well as her two granddogs Rolo and Zoey, her cousins Ronald Vance Armstrong (Betty Roe) of Carleton Place, Ontario, Margaret Wright Porubanec (Darrell) of Kelowna, BC, Nancy Leigh Wright Kriebel (Lee) of Annapolis, Maryland and Dorothy Wright Holmes (Francis) of Kelowna, BC whom she always considered as her nieces, Jimmy Bassal whom she considered to be her nephew, Aaron Wiebe (Wilma) and Andrea Wiebe (Murray Soko) whom she always considered to be her grandchildren, Aaron and Wilma's children Sydney, Naomi, Katherine and Emma whom she always considered her great-grandchildren and they called her Nana. Special friends of hers that helped her often through the years and were her close friends that also will mourn her passing include: Lottie Redicopp, Vina Pruden, and Hedy and Donald Wiebe. She will also be lovingly remembered by numerous friends in the Eastern Star as well as Job's Daughters which she was an active member of both at the time of her passing. Audrey will also be lovingly remembered by numerous friends she has met over the years as well as a lot of her daughter's childhood friends. Audrey was predeceased by: her father Harold William Briggs in June, 1961, her mother Monieta Maud Briggs (nee Thompson) in October, 1963, her husband Herbert Lloyd Davies in May, 1981, her niece Leanne Wright Bassal in June, 2014, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Audrey was born in Winnipeg and lived on Donalda Avenue when she was young. Audrey graduated high school from East Kildonan Collegiate (Lord Wolseley School) in 1942 and worked as a secretary at Manitoba Hydro until she married Herb Davies in February of 1949. She moved with her husband due to his job to Smith's Falls, Ontario, Regina Saskatchewan, Calgary, Alberta and they then moved back to Winnipeg where they permanently resided. Audrey and Herb adopted Lea Ann in February of 1967 and from then on she became a stay at home housewife/mother. She enjoyed summers at the family's summer home at Red Rock Lake. She joined the Eastern Star in 1970 and enjoyed many years of active membership, making new friends and visiting different people. After her husband Herb passed away in 1981, she took on both parental roles. When her daughter joined Job's Daughters she became active in that right away and became Bethel Guardian from June,1982 - June,1984 when Lea Ann was an officer. She enjoyed spending time with "her girls" and helped out everyone whenever possible. After Audrey's health started to decline she moved from her house to an apartment. She cherished the visits and outings with her friends as well as visits from her daughter. She always said the best day of her life was when her daughter Lea Ann took her "trucking" from Calgary to Edmonton for her 80th birthday. Lea Ann would like to thank: Dr. Sheila Domke and Dr. Heather Domke for their many years of compassionate care, the sick visiting committee from Jephthah Chapter #22 OES lead by Ina Williamson as well as all the members of the chapter for making sure she was still a part of things after her health started to decline, the home care workers at Access Home Care especially Shelly and Eleanore for the tremendous job and compassionate care so that Audrey was in her apartment for as long as her health would allow, and the care teams at The Misericordia Health Centre and the Kildonan Personal Care Centre for their compassionate care in Audrey's last months. Funeral service was held at Klassen Funeral Home 1897 Henderson Hwy. Friday afternoon January 23 at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Aaron Wiebe conducted the service. Interment followed at Brookside Cemetery. There was a short luncheon after the service.
