ADOLF (ED) TOBER Peacefully at Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on Thursday, January 22, 2015, Mr. Adolf "Ed" Tober of St. Laurent, Manitoba passed away at the age of 85. He leaves to mourn his passing his two grandsons, Alexander and Nicholas Tober and daughter-in-law Lisa Wolfe Tober of Winnipeg, Manitoba, brother Oskar Tober of Sudbury, Ontario and sisters Hildegard Kaderle (Michael) and Edeltraut Fischler (Matt) of Cleveland, Ohio. Adolf was predeceased by his only son Peter, his wife Anna, brothers Robert and Herbert, and parents Robert and Amanda. He was born April 10, 1929 in Uklei, Poland and married his wife Anna in Germany on August 19, 1950 before immigrating to Canada and settling in Winnipeg, Manitoba. By 1952 he had opened up his own barber shop on Main Street in Winnipeg and soon after his son Peter was born in 1953. Adolf was a barber for his entire life and after retiring, he continued to cut hair at his home until his final days. He lived in Winnipeg for over 55 years, and in St. Laurent, Manitoba for the last 10, where he enjoyed fishing, boating, gardening and entertaining his many friends. Adolf's close friends and family are invited to celebrate his life at a service to take place Friday, January 30, 2015, 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home.
