Father Ron and I met in the early part of 2008 after he had a fall. I was introduced to him by my girlfriend who was his visiting nurse at the time. Father and I hit it off and became fast friends. He met my gentleman friend (Chuck) sometime later in 2008 and quickly pronounced that he was going to marry us some day. At the time I felt a bit awkward, this being a new relationship I was in, but he obviously saw something in the heavens, because true to his word he married us in the fall of 2012. Father was such a wonderful man and I enjoyed all of our visits. He had such a gentle warmth about him that always left you feeling at peace with all your troubles. My sincerest condolences to Doreen and Wayne whom I had the great opportunity to get to know through Father Ron. It's a sad day knowing you are gone from this world but heaven has been greatly blessed with your presence. - Posted by: Teresa & Chuck Mackelson (Friends) on: Feb 02, 2015

I first met Father Ron at a family dinner in Winnipeg when his sister came down to visit him and my son Jeff and his great niece Jennifer had gotten engaged. He performed the marriage ceremony for Jeff and Jen in St. Catharines back in September of 2007. Since then he has also baptized both of my younger granddaughters and also performed the ceremony for my ex-husband's memorial service right before he went East to visit with family and friends there. We were looking forward to hearing about his visit when we next got together with him, and were very saddened at his unexpected demise. He seemed to be doing so well! He will definitely be missed by our family here in Winnipeg as well as his family in Ontario. Our condolences to all of you. He was a wonderful man and it was always such a pleasure to talk to him. - Posted by: Pam Davis () on: Jan 28, 2015

Father Ron or should I say Uncle Ron was one of the kindest, warmest and generous person I have ever met. He was always making people around him laugh and just feel good about themself. He was such a special person to myself and to my entire family. He married my wife Jen and myself, he also baptized both of my children and also did the funeral service for my dad Rick Davis last month. I was very saddened to have learned of his passing. I am sure Ron's lips are a smacking as he sips on a wonderful glass of red wine. Uncle Ron will never be forgotten - Posted by: Jeff Davis (Great nephew) on: Jan 28, 2015

I have been so very blessed to have had Father/Uncle Ron in my life. Ron's great-niece, Jennifer married my stepson Jeff. Recently, Father Ron also officiated at my husband's funeral service/celebration of life. Thank you, Uncle Ron for being the wonderful person that you are. God Bless. You are a truly amazing person. Every life you have touched has been made better. Thank you for being in my life. You gave me strength. - Posted by: Janet Davis (Friend and Family) on: Jan 28, 2015

Father Ron or Uncle Ron as I knew him was a cherished family member. He married one of my children, baptized 2 granddaughters and was always there for all of his family members. We were so blessed to have him join us from Dec. 26- Jan 9th, 2015 for our Christmas gathering and my parents' 60th Wedding Anniversary celebration. We shared lots of conversation and laughter during that time and I will always be thankful for that. We always wished he would move closer to us but he always said he had too many friends in Winnipeg to ever leave. We will miss him always. - Posted by: Lisa Levstik (niece) on: Jan 28, 2015

I was 14 years old when I first met Father Ron and we quickly became the best of friends. He complete summons every Sunday at the Anglican Church in Fairford, but we liked to talk and visit at the Garwood Grill on Pembina Highway. - Posted by: Conrad Marsden (Dear Friend) on: Jan 28, 2015
