Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCATHARINA (KAY) HRYCIW March 24, 1919 - January 27, 2015 With love and great sadness, the family announces the passing of our dear mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother at Gimli Betel Home on Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at the age of 95 years. Left to mourn are Mom's eight children: Jim Hryciw, Phyllis Hryciw, Pat Wood, Clement Hryciw, Elsa Chylinski, Linda Trudeau (Dennis), Millie Kosowan, Shirley Husarski (George), her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her brother Willy, her sisters Jessie and Nellie, and many nieces and nephews and friends. Mom was predeceased by her husband, Peter, of 44 years who passed December 12, 1983, her parents Alex and Anna, brothers Mike, John, Harry, Nick, Steve, Pete; sisters Mary, Stella, Jean, three grandsons Dwayne and Kirk Husarski, and Jamie Kosowan. Mom was born in Polson District, March 24, 1919. She met her husband Peter and they were married May 1939. Mom was a hard worker. She was an excellent cook, gardener, and sewer. Mom canned most of the food that was grown on the farm to feed her family. Mom enjoyed trips to British Columbia and Hawaii. The family would like to say a special thank-you to Dr. Graham, Dr. Rhoma, nurses and staff at Gimli Betel Home for their support and excellent care. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Teulon, MB. Interment will follow at Komarno Cemetery. Everyone is welcome to join the family for a time of fellowship and lunch at Komarno Hall. Pallbearers are Mom's grandchildren: Jason Neale, Darren Husarski, Penny and Johnathon Wood, Kevin Chylinski, and Melodie Kosowan.
