My prayers go out to the family. I just found out about this. So sorry for your loss. I remember his sense of humor! He could always make me laugh. I didn't know him, or any of you that long but I do know he was a good man, a loving father and an inspiration to a lot of people. May God be with the family and friend who have to carry on without him. - Posted by: Susan Pemberton (Friend) on: Jul 26, 2015

Well Dad it's been 53 days and I still struggle to believe this to be true. the snow has melted in the yard. Everything still moves forward. I haven't seen a Robin yet this year, HA.. saying that I bet I will see one today. I want you back! - Posted by: Deberdoo () on: Mar 19, 2015

I remember that Joe went to Britannia and to St. James Collegiate. He hung out at the St. James Legion and played a mean game of pool. The family used to camp at Wallace Lake, where Joe would fish. They built a cottage at Grindstone and spent every free moment there. They had a big black dog named Radar that was Joe's best friend. We had a lot of fun when the family was young. RIP, Joe. - Posted by: Marg Owens (Friend) on: Feb 09, 2015

Joe was born and raised in Winnipeg and lived on King Edward Street almost his entire life. He was predeceased by his parents Elizabeth (nee Taylor) and Joe Ward. He is survived by his older brother, Jim, as well as his wife and children (Joe, Barb, John, Sue, and Deb). Joe was close to his nephew, Jimmy, with whom he spent a lot of time. Joe retired from MTS and had a lot of fun out at the family cabin in Grindstone. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and took up golf later in life. He used to sing like an angel and play the guitar and harmonica. Many family parties were punctuated by his harmonies with his mom and his Auntie Mabel. - Posted by: Marg Owens (Friend) on: Feb 06, 2015

Rest in peace Joe Ward. Thank you for years of enjoyment listening to your music and jokes. Always a great sense of humour. But mostly, thank you for looking after my friend so well in so many ways. And I know she felt pride in looking after you in your time of need. Rest in peace Joe. You will be missed by many. - Posted by: Sheri Ann Laurie (Friend of youngest daughter) on: Feb 01, 2015
