Myrtle is lovingly remembered by her children: Allan (Patricia), Elaine, Bruce (Cheryl), David (Edie); nine grandchildren: Jody, Kyle, Carrie, Colleen, Jesse, Aaron, Garrett, Christopher, Jordon and seven great-grandchildren: Julian, Laine, Blake, Acelyn, Kaia, Kate, and Evelyn; sister-in-law Laura Geske of Vancouver; nephew Frank Rossiter, who spent much time with the Geske family while growing up, and her many nieces and nephews. Myrtle was predeceased by her parents, Bruce and Justine Brusegard, brothers and sisters, Cecil, Albert, Alice, Irene, Doris, and Wilfred. Mom had a long, healthy, happy life. She took great pride in being an excellent homemaker, and spent many pleasant summers at her cottage in Ponemah with Ernie, and her family and friends. There was no doubt that Mom's first priority was to her family. The happiness and success of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren gave Myrtle her greatest joy. She will be forever remembered for her welcoming smile, her fairness, her patience, her generosity, and especially her kindness to all. We were blessed to have her in our lives. We will miss you Mom, and will forever treasure our memories of you. Mom was a long time member of Church of The Cross as well as being involved in activities at Tuxedo Towers, where she resided. Mert greatly enjoyed The Horizon Club, tea time, and the knitting circle with her condo friends. The family wishes to extend our gratitude to all staff that helped with Mom's care in her home, and then later at St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit. A memorial service will be held at The Lutheran Church of the Cross, 560 Arlington Street, on Monday, February 9 at 2:00 p.m. with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Lutheran Church of The Cross, Siloam Mission, or a charity of your choice. "May you always walk in sunshine." Mrs Geske was a wonderful Lady, and a shining example of a great friend and mother. Kind, friendly and down to earth, caring, giving and steady as a rock. She will be missed by all who knew her, but she will never be forgotten. She taught by example, and that legacy will live on. Condolences to the Gillis & Geske families. - Posted by: Kenneth McGrath (Family friend) on: Feb 09, 2015

I loved my Auntie so very, very much and even though we grieve at home, the family is never far from our thoughts or those of Aunty Mrytle's Sister-In-Law, Laura. Aunty Mrytle's passing leaves a huge hole in our hearts. The world is much, much poorer today because of her passing. Sweet, kind, gentle, a listener, and great story teller with her distinctive voice will always be missed. Rest in Peace Aunty Myrtle. May God comfort all who mourn. xxxxoooo - Posted by: Allyson AportA (Niece) on: Feb 06, 2015
