Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCATHERINE CHINNICK Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Catherine Agnes Chinnick passed away peacefully at Seven Oaks Hospital in Winnipeg, MB on February 1, 2015. She was born March 29, 1923 and married the love of her life R. F. (Bob) Chinnick in 1943. Together they raised six children Karen, Jim, Elizabeth, Ruth, Andrew and Mark. Catherine also cherished her relationship with her name-sake niece Catherine, who, with her mother, our Aunt Audrey, shared so many experiences with the family. Mom, we dearly love you and will hold you forever in our hearts. Her grandchildren John, Jacqueline, Bob, Carolyn, Mary, Gwen, Kevin, Jenn, Ally, Karen, Micheil, Leigh and Trevor will sorely miss her as will her great-grandchildren Ruth, Franklin, Peter, Luke, Julia, Kinsley, Sarah, Mark, Jennifer, William, Jack and Ava. Catherine was born in Kingston and attended Queen's University. Throughout her long life she had a zest for living and was always curious and interested in new and different things. While raising her family, she lived in many different cities across three provinces in Canada. Catherine enjoyed many years working with her husband to build a family cottage in a then wilderness area of Ontario (she was a brave lady) where countless family memories continue to be made. After many years in Ottawa, Mom relocated to Winnipeg, and several happy years were enjoyed at the Shaftesbury retirement residence. Her family thanks her many dear friends. There will be a celebration of life at Shaftesbury Retirement Residence in Winnipeg on February 9, 2015 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the library and chapel. Catherine will be laid to rest in Ottawa during a private ceremony next to her cherished husband. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice in memory of Catherine and Bob. What a lovely and gentle person. It was a privilege to get to know her when we were both at SPRR. - Posted by: Vivian Bicknell-Lynne (Retired Executive Director at SPRR) on: Feb 06, 2015
