Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBLANCHE PIERRET (née CHICOINE) Marie Blanche Aline Pierret (née Chicoine) passed away peacefully on January 28, 2015, at the age of 90 years at St. Boniface Hospital. She was born on June 4, 1924 in Storthoaks, SK. She leaves to mourn her twin sister, Rose (Oscar Desrochers), and sisters Rita (Al Kent) and Lilianne (Fernand Delaye), and sister-in-law, Margaret (Alcide Chicoine), and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Jules, in 1988, and her parents, Arthur and Alice Chicoine (née Filteau), siblings, Alfred (Jeanne Milette), Albina (Henri Blerot), Regina, Annette (Lionel Paulhus), and Wilfrid (Gisele Aubin). Aunt Blanche worked long hours (along with Uncle Jules) in their general store in Storthoaks. She had a very strong faith and a long term membership in the CWL. She was community focused. She received awards for canvassing for a variety of charitable organizations, including Red Cross, Cancer Fund, Heart Fund, and the CNIB. She made wedding and birthday cakes for family and friends, sold Avon, cleaned the church regularly, and volunteered with other various tasks. It did not take long for Aunt Blanche to get involved with St. Emile Church, and volunteer her services at Agape Table (soup kitchen), Heart and Stroke Foundation, and other charitable organizations when they moved to Winnipeg in October 1986. Aunt Blanche was a kind, caring, lovely lady, who was always there for family and friends. She will truly be missed and remembered by all the many lives she has touched. We wish to thank the many wonderful nurses and staff on the 5th floor of St. Boniface Hospital who comforted and cared for her. Viewing will take place on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Emile Church, 556 St. Anne's Road. Funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. Many good memories of Blanche, our neighbor, in Storthoaks. She was a wonderful lady who cared and enquired about everyone, young and old. She was a woman of strong faith who never spoke wrong of anyone, a wonderful example of someone who cared and gave of herself in everything she did. Repose en paix. - Posted by: Lianne David (Wolensky) (friend ) on: Feb 06, 2015

Condolences to Blanche's family. How well I remember visits to the store when Blanche & Jules were in Storthoaks remembering the store with such clarity, a happy childhood memory. Blanche was a kind, lovely woman who I remember would often take my mom back (me as well and so tickled) to see a wedding cake she was working on or new Avon. She also made our wedding cake. Over the years I always made a point to read Blanche's annual Christmas card to mom and dad and marveled that she continued to stay so busy. Blanche was a fine lady who I will remember with fondness. Rest in Peace, Blanche. - Posted by: Rena & Wade Bevan () on: Feb 05, 2015

We offer our sincere condolences to Blanche's family. She will be remembered for her kind enquiries of our families' activities when they left the Storthoaks area; and always, for decorating their birthday and graduation cakes when they were growing up. She was a kind and gracious lady. - Posted by: Leroy and Jennifer Berry and family (Friend) on: Feb 05, 2015

I remember Blanche and Jules when they had the store in Storthoaks. Many memories going there with my parents Johny and Rose, also went with my grandma Nola Dancey. Blanche and Jules were very kind people and made everyone feel very welcome in their store. We remember Blanche so well when she & Jules ran the grocery store & cafe in Storthoaks, it was a great place to gather and make many memories...She made our beautiful wedding cake in June 1967 and we had the privilege of having her come visit in 2010 along with Lucy Deschambault, she was still as witty in her own quiet way as ever...Rest in peace dear Blanche...Our condolences to all her family & friends. - Posted by: Yvette & Richard (Dick) Bauche (First cousin) on: Feb 05, 2015
