  • I'm sorry I missed Werner's passing. He was a curling friend for a number of years at the Wildewood Club. I recall lots of laughs! Great guy, I'm sure he is missed by all that knew him. ...and yes, I even remember Werner's van, I think he named it "Fame". - Posted by: Terry W (Friend) on: Jul 06, 2023

  • Met and conversed many mornings on the way to work. He at times had Theresa drop him off at key bus stops rain or shine to hook up with our little group to start his day. I don't think she knew any of our group, but she lit up our mornings as we discussed everything under the sun. Cheers Werner. - Posted by: Randy Clark (Bus Buddy) on: Mar 31, 2015

  • Werner and I both had similar duties at Hydro and he was a wealth of information. We also shared health issues and supported each other in that area of our lives. I was stunned when I heard the news. My sympathies to his family. He was a great presence wherever he went and will be missed greatly. - Posted by: Terry Wellman (co-worker Friend) on: Feb 20, 2015

  • Our thoughts are with you Theresa at this very sad time for you and your family. We were unaware the Werner was sick and only found out by reading the hydro gram. We will always remember the both of you with wonderful thoughts - Posted by: John & Donna Radomski (co-workers) on: Feb 17, 2015

  • My heart goes out to you and your family, Theresa. I opened the Hydrogram on-line this morning and was shocked to see that Werner had passed. I've been retired for 4 years now and did not realize that he had been sick. I will always remember him as the warm, kind, loving man he was. Since I retired I have told many people that the only thing I miss is all the lovely people I had the privilege to work with over the years and both you and Werner are on that list. Love and blessings to you and your family at this sad time. - Posted by: Linda Jackson (co-worker) on: Feb 15, 2015

  • Dear Theresa and Family - I was shocked and saddened to hear of Werner's passing, as I had just emailed him and he was having a better week than the previous. I feel a sense of loss without him around. He was a person who you could count on for support of any kind. No matter what you talked about you could trust and depend on him to lift your spirits and end up laughing at some silly story. He had the knack to be able to talk with anyone he encountered. I hope I never forget his laughter. He helped and taught me so much. I called him my SAP guru at work. He never got tired, gave it his all. He always made sure to drop in and say hi. I'll miss him very much. Til we meet again my friend..RIP Werner. - Posted by: fran munson (friend , co worker ) on: Feb 12, 2015

  • Theresa and Werner, You have welcomed me and Luc with open arms into your family since we have moved to Winnipeg, and your family has become a part of our lives with our almost weekly get-togethers and dinners. Werner was an extremely kind and caring person, going out of his way to help us out during our transition to a new city. I remember when Werner showed me his corgi history book, I know he had memorized every dog in the book, and he loved walking me through the “evolution of corgis”. Theresa I hope you can find peace knowing Werner is with his Corgis just one step ahead of the rest of us still here. - Posted by: Sally Bowman (Niece) on: Feb 12, 2015

  • Werner was often at coffee and lunch with a group of us when he worked at the Notre Dame Hydro office. We enjoyed his stories about his dogs and his son. My condolences. He will be missed. - Posted by: Dale Mitchell (Co-worker) on: Feb 10, 2015

  • I was so sorry to read this. Werner told me before Christmas about his diagnosis, but still remained so positive. He spoke of his planned trip with his son to California in January. Did he get to do this? I hoped he was doing OK, when I hadn't seen him for weeks on the bus. He will be missed. Therese, when he talked of you (every day) he had a twinkle in his eye. He had so much love for his family. Again I am so sorry. - Posted by: Vernelle Unrau (Bus-Budy) on: Feb 10, 2015

  • Our hearts go out to you, Theresa and Chris, for your loss of your precious husband and father. Werner was an irreplaceable, awesome man, simply amazing! We loved him so very much - his kindness, his wisdom, his thoughtfulness, and his deep love for his family and friends touched us all. This is a big blow to us, as well as to you. Werner was a close friend of Joe's. He took friendship seriously and was there in the bad times as well as the good times for us. He was a true friend and we will miss him terribly. The first time I met Werner he had transferred to Manitoba Hydro Stores and had befriended Joe. He was a friendly, chatty person, and the two of them could chat up a storm after working hours when I came to pick Joe up. Needless to say, we were always late getting home, but it was wonderful talking with him. He made everyone feel special. Outside of work, Joe would meet Werner for tea at his house, at the shopping centre, at restaurants, and always the talk would involve you, Theresa and Chris, and his precious corgis. He was so proud of you and loved you so very much. If you had any questions about dogs, Werner was your man. He had immense knowledge about care of dogs, and was a real animal lover. I know that there is a high place in heaven and Werner is there now, romping and playing with his beloved corgis. His was a life well-lived and well-loved. God Bless you, Werner. We love you! - Posted by: Sandy and Joe Meyerson (Friends) on: Feb 10, 2015
