NELLIE STELLA WOLOSHYN (nee CHERNIAK) Peacefully, with family by her side, Nellie Stella Woloshyn passed away at the age of 80 years on February 5, 2015. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her children: Gloria Woloshyn, Shirley Herlick (Ralph), Judy Woloshyn, Wendy Gambrel (Brian), Randy Woloshyn (Joan), Darryl Woloshyn (Denise), Kevin Woloshyn (Paula); 16 grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren. Nellie was predeceased by her husband Jerry (loving husband of 63 years); her parents Louis and Mary Cherniak; grandson Micheal Woloshyn and her siblings Roy and Doug Cherniak Nellie was born in Komarno, Manitoba on December 10, 1934. She attended Komarno then Rossdale school and helped her Mom and Dad on the farm. Nellie met the love of her life, Jerry at the age of 16. It was love at first sight. They were married on October 20, 1951 and soon after the children arrived. This was a busy time as Nellie worked as a homemaker and worked hard on the farm. Her gardens were always bountiful and provided a lot of food for the family plus many others. Through the years she worked at Eaton's, various catering companies and in 1997 retired from Northern Telecom. She loved travelling and camping with her friends and family. Her family was her pride and joy. She looked forward to seeing them and always insisted that we stay and eat her amazing cooking. Tremendous gratitude to Dr. Konrad and the staff of St. Boniface Hospital and Dr. Johnston and staff at CancerCare for their loving care and support. Prayers to be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Gilbart Funeral Home, 309 Eveline Street in Selkirk, MB. Funeral service to be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 13, 2015 at Blessed Virgin Mary Church at 530 Donald Rd, Lockport, MB, R1A 3K4. Officiating the service will be Reverend Jaroslaw Buduykevych and Bishop Micheal Wiwchar. Pallbearers will be Nellie's seven grandsons: Jeff and Jason Herlick, Kevin, Trevor and Darren Woloshyn, David Prokipchuk and Bryce Gambrel. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Lockport, MB. Nellie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to all. She had a warm and loving heart, cared deeply and loved us all. We will miss you so much, but are comforted knowing your husband Jerry and grandson Mikey have embraced you with open arms. Mom, Grandma... We know you are very proud of each and every one of us. It is your love that has nourished this tree of life. • Our deepest sympathy to the family at this time. We will all miss Nellie's delicious cooking & soups which she made from scratch that she learned from her mother. You could never visit the Woloshyn home and leave without eating. The conversation was always at length as we knew them for a long time.
