CATHERINE MAC GREGOR (nee BOAG) March 31, 1924 - February 2, 2015 Peacefully on Monday, Catherine passed away in her sleep. She was predeceased by her husband Richard and parents Christie and Catherine Boag. Catherine was raised in Winnipeg and worked at the Manitoba Telephone System where she met Dick. She was a wonderful homemaker and together they enjoyed their many friends and wonderful trips. In 1992 Dick passed away and this left a big void in her life. Catherine passed away at the Golden West Centennial Lodge and it is her request that there be no formal service. Cremation has taken place. The family would like to thank all the Golden West Staff for their kindness and care. If friends desire, donations may be made in Catherine's memory to Golden West Centennial Lodge 811 School Road, Winnipeg, MB R2Y 0S8. www.seasonsfunerals.ca

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • My Grandmother Catherine had the best laugh, it was contagious. She was a true and proper Lady. She was married to my grandfather Richard just shy of fifty years together. They had three children Joanne, Chris & Don. They kept a beautiful home in St. James with a beautiful garden in the back yard and plentiful apple tree. She most often sat with her legs crossed drinking tea. Her home was immaculately clean. She'd make us grandkids endless egg salad sandwiches that were soft as a cloud. I remember one of her sayings that stuck with me through life, "peace at any price" and I still use it. She wore pearls and fancy jewelry and collected porcelain figurines. I loved to stare at them in the display case. I saw her one last time at New Years. She didn't seem to remember me but was smiling and laughing. Sometimes I find that same laugh slip out of me and I realize that I sound just like her or my aunt Joanne. I'ts a subtle high pitched giggle that reminds me of them. It's quick and sweet, a sudden burst of eloquent burst of JOY. All well keeping it proper. I will never forget the way it sounds and the twinkle in her eye when it surfaced. To a life well lived Grandma! I hope you are dancing with Grandpa in Heaven. You sure have lots to catch up on! We all Love you very much <3 xoxo - Posted by: Christa Mary MacGregor (Grandaughter) on: Feb 07, 2015
