ADELE DANYLCHUK (nee SKOWRON) February 9, 1935 - February 6, 2015 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mom and grandma on February 6, 2015 at the Health Sciences Centre. Mom was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Julia, her stepmother Mary, husband Lloyd, and brother Ted. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Greg (Betty), daughter Lori (Jack), grandchildren Krystal, Christopher, Allison, and Kevin, Betty's children Melissa and Natasha, brother Alfred (Grace), sister-in-law Shirley, and many nieces, nephews and treasured friends. Mom was born and raised in Winnipeg and attended St. John's High School. She worked at Quaker Oats Company and Eaton's retiring in 1996. Mom was a member of St. Gerard Parish and the CWL donating her time and making lasting friendships. Mom was a caring and devoted mother and grandma who always loved us unconditionally. Throughout her life, she never failed in her selfless devotion to her family. Mom was diagnosed with cancer in the spring of 2013 and she fought her battle with courage and dignity. Even through the toughest of times her thoughts were always of others. She was grateful for every blessing in her life and lived everyday to the fullest. The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the staff at CancerCare, St. Boniface Hospital and Health Sciences Centre, our family, and friends for all their support and care. We would also like to thank Mom's circle of friends and prayer group family who sustained her in thoughts, prayers, phone calls, and visits throughout her illness. Mass will be said on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gerard Roman Catholic Church, 45 Foster Street with Father Greg Mulligan officiating. Interment and reception to follow at Glen Eden Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4477 Main Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. Rest In Peace Mom. We love you. Her kindness and good words about everyone she spoke of will be missed. She was the best neighbor and friend, we will miss her a lot. Ricky (the pup) will sorely miss his treats. I will try to keep my flower garden up as I presume she will be checking in on it from time to time. - Posted by: Jan and Brian Bordyniuk (Friend and Neighbor) on: Feb 12, 2015

I've known Adele pretty much my whole life as we've gone to the same church since about 1980, and for the last 7 years we've been in the same prayer group. Her daughter Lori used to be my babysitter. I thought of Adele like an aunt. I've loved getting to know her, going to the same church, and especially being in the same prayer group hearing her talk about her kids and grandkids. I will miss her very much and prayer group won't be the same without her but I will always remember her. RIP Adele. To Lori and family, I'm so sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Take care. <3 - Posted by: Karen (friend from church and prayer group) on: Feb 09, 2015

We had known Adele for many, many years and in all that time she was just as they mentioned ... kind, caring and a wonderful person. We will certainly miss seeing her at the family functions. - Posted by: Bobbi and Harold Appler (Friend) on: Feb 09, 2015
