JOHN GENSIOREK September 26, 1936 - February 5, 2015 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, brother and uncle at the age of 78 years. John will be lovingly remembered by his children Karen (Wally) and Dan (Sandra), and his five grandchildren Danielle, Dylan, Dustyn (Angelina), Tyson and Travis; as well as his brothers and sisters Henry (Alice), Peter (Lillian), Joe (Ruby), Melvin, Louis (Linda), Lillian, and Adeline (Norm), his sisters-in-law Marie and Helen, and numerous nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his parents Paul and Annie, brothers Nick and Adolph, and his brother-in-law Pete. John was born in Ruthenia district and grew up farming in Rossburn, MB with his family, until he eventually moved to Winnipeg where he briefly worked at Canada Packers until finding his permanent employment with Canada Messenger/Direct Messenger as an Owner Operator. He loved his job and enjoyed every day he worked there, from 1960 to 2004 when he retired. In retirement he enjoyed watching TV (especially wrestling), going for walks and just taking life easy. Please join us in celebrating John's life at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Lung Association or The Asthma Society of Canada. • Bart and I send our condolences to the Gensiorek family. I remember meeting Johnny when he first lived in Transcona, and lived with his cousin Nestor Pushka and Bernice Pushka. Johnny was always smiling and made people feel at ease. We used to go dancing at the UNF hall on Main Street. Wow! That takes me back quite a few years. I hadn't seen him in years, but I was glad to know him. Once again, you have our regards.
