SOPHIA GIDZAK (nee MOCZULSKI) December 29, 1938 - February 8, 2015 After a long battle with cancer, Sophia passed peacefully Sunday morning in her sleep. Sophia is survived by her siblings and her family: William (Christine), Oksana (Melvin) and Christopher (Kathleen); her eight grandchildren and their spouses; and eight great-grandchildren. Born and raised in the parkland region of Manitoba, Sophia loved the outdoors, the wildlife and picking blueberries. She was a woman ahead of her time. She was strong, willful and had spunk. She was a seamstress, a hair stylist, a business woman, a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. But most important, she was Baba. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She loved each and every one, especially her angels....her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She knew each one was unique and different in their own way, and her great love for them was the same She was always there for us. We will miss her greatly. Services will be held at St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson, with interment at Glen Eden Cemetery, 4477 Main St. on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Those wishing to make donations instead of sending flowers, please donate to CancerCare.
