ZENNOVIA MACDONALD (nee PRYSTUPA) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Zennovia MacDonald on Monday, February 9, 2015. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 55 years, Donald; children, James (Janna), Danny (Chris), Valerie and Allan (Denise); along with her grandchildren, Jessie (Bill), Sheena (Sean), Braydon, Brett, Maddison and Cassidy; great-grandchildren, Owen and Liam. Predeceased by son-in-law Denis Bedard and great-granddaughter Rayanne van Egteren. Born October 27, 1939 in Waldheim, Saskatchewan to Olga and Anton Prystupa, fifth of 10 children. Her family moved to Warren, Manitoba in 1946, where she attended school and eventually met and married the love of her life. Zennovia and Donald set up roots in Stonewall, Manitoba where they raised four children. Zennovia always had the desire to help others and her love and compassion for sick children influenced her to obtain her Registered Nursing degree in 1977, which began her long career at Health Sciences Centre, Children's Hospital. In 1987, she became a Nursing Supervisor of Children's Hospital and in 1996, she retired. Her hobbies included cheering on her children and grandchildren in a variety of sporting events and educational endeavors. She loved to cook and do all kinds of crafts, sewing, knitting, crocheting, scrap booking and shared what she learned with her family. Zennovia liked to travel the world with Donald and spend time dancing the night away with family and friends. Prayers will be held on Friday, February 13, 2015, 7:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Home, 433 Main St., Stonewall, Manitoba. Funeral to take place on Saturday, February 14, 2015, 1:00 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 315 2nd Street East, Stonewall, Manitoba. • I worked with Zen for many years at Children's Hospital. I remember the many nights we worked together on 5 north in the Old Children's Hospital. She was a great nurse very caring and compassionate and I loved working with her and I remember she taught me how to macrame. My thoughts are with all of you during this difficult time. • We extend our deepest sympathies to your entire family during this sad time for you all. Remember that losing a loved one is so very difficult, but that when we lose a loved one on earth, we gain an angel in heaven. Your mom has become your angel and she will forever watch over you all. She leaves great memories that will remain alive in your hearts and minds and in your everyday life. Take comfort in knowing that she will be looking after all the children in heaven. We extend our sincere condolences to all of you. Be there for each other especially your dad. Bless you all. - Posted by: Michael and Melanie Selezinka and Family (friend of family) on: Feb 13, 2015

  • My heart is heavy as I think of you, Don, and all of your family. Zen was a very special lady and has left all of us with wonderful memories. I am so glad that you and Zen were able to visit your New Brunswick friends last fall. I know that Shirley has lost the best friend one could have and that all of your family are going through such a deep hurt. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Much love and many hugs going your way. Di - Posted by: Diana Tingley (friend) on: Feb 12, 2015
