Also left to cherish David's memory are Elizabeth Becenko, Aunt Anna Storr and his many friends, particularly those dear friends that were near with their love and support over the last number of weeks. Thank you to the staff at Riverview, Victoria General Hospital and CancerCare Manitoba for the support and compassion they provided. As per David's request cremation has taken place. A celebration and remembrance of David's life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3T 9Z9. "You can shed a tear that he is gone or you can smile because he lived. You can close your eyes and pray that he comes back, or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see him, or you can be full of the love he shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember only that he is gone, or you can cherish his memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back, or you can do what He'd want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on". - David Hawkins - NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com
