LORRAINE GRIER August 15, 1931 - February 11, 2015 Lorraine was born to Arthur and Agnes Lesperance in Emerson, Manitoba on August 15, 1931. She passed away peacefully in Niverville, Manitoba on February 11, 2015. After becoming a hair dresser and a Registered Nurse, she married Neale Grier in 1956 and lived in Winnipeg where she became a homemaker and they raised 2 sons. The family moved to Saskatoon and then Brandon. Lorraine made many lifelong friends and loved to babysit where ever she went. There was curling, bowling, camping, trips to the Purple Pad, trips across Canada and the USA, to Cuba, the Caymans and Hawaii. Trips out west to visit David's family and attend country music festivals. There were Christmas' in Brandon and hockey games with Paul's family. But the travelling ceased when Alzheimer's took its toll. Dad became her devoted caregiver. The disease may have caused her to forget us for a while, but she will remember us now. Mom was predeceased by her parents and her brothers George and Allan. She is survived by sister Mavis; husband Neale; sons David (Debbie) and Paul (Lori); grandchildren Christopher (Michelle), Lyndsay, Kyle (Kara), and Darren; and great-grandchildren Sophie and Abigail. A funeral service was held at Green Acres Funeral Home in Winnipeg, on February 21. Many thanks to the Green Acres staff, celebrant Vince Anderson and mom's nephew Brett for their participation. Interment will occur later this spring. In mom's memory, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society; 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 4G2.
