EMILY SABESKI It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Emily Sabeski on February 14, 2015, at the age of 84 years. Emily was predeceased by her parents Wesley and Anne Prokopow, and last year by her husband Alex Sabeski. She is survived by her daughter Deborah; sons Wayne (Maria Estela), Gary, Darren (Patti), and Lauren (Lynne); grandchildren Selene, Cheryl (Wade), Alex, Edward, Sara, Alyssa, and Blake; and great-grandchildren Liliana, Roderic, and Drayce. Emily was born in Shoal Lake, Manitoba. She had a brief career as a school teacher until she married Alex in 1949, after which she dedicated herself to being a homemaker and mother to her five children. She was a member of Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church where she also served in the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League in parish activities. Since 2008, Mom resided at the Kildonan Personal Care Centre. We would like to thank the wonderful staff, residents, and their family members for the excellent care and the sense of community that Mom and the rest of our family experienced during her stay there. You helped us realize the special person our mom was. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba is greatly appreciated. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB with interment to follow.
