EDWARD ORCHARD On Sunday, February 15, 2015 at the Foyer Notre Dame, Edward Harold Orchard aged 96 years of Miami, MB, beloved husband of Catherine Orchard (nee Madill). Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Miami Community Hall. Interment will take place at a later date in the Altamont Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Altamont Community Hall Renovation Project. Doyle's Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements. www.doylesfuneralchapel.com

Eddie picked this east coaster up at the airport in Winnipeg. I never knew quite where I was on the prairie, it all looks the same if you're not from there, but I had a vague inkling we were going to Deerwood a different way. We drove down over a slight rise in the road and there was a white carpet of Canada geese as far as the eye could see. I'll never forget his kindness in going out of his way to share that wonder of nature with me. Sincere thanks to Eddie for his service in WWII and his steady support during the very worst time of my life. My sincere sympathies to the family.
