LENA SYMYNYSHEN 1917 - 2015 It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Lena Symynyshen on February 17, 2015, at the Arborg Personal Care Home, at the age of 97 years. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Silver Community Hall. Longer obituary to follow in Friday's paper. MacKenzie Funeral Home in care of arrangements.

  • Every time I think about auntie Lena was when I was younger, our family would go to their farm in Arborg. Auntie Lena gave me aN ice cream cone and I went and sat on the steps outside and shared with the dogs. (I was very young OK, LOL). I would go back in the house and Auntie Lena was surprised that the ice cream was all gone so fast. I then told her the dogs had some. Auntie Lena kept giving me ice cream because she thought the dogs were taking it on me. When she figured out what I was doing, she laughed and said "Yuck don't share with the dogs".
