Irene passed away in Gimli on February 18, 2015 at the age of 82 years. A memorial service will take place at a later date with longer notice to follow. I was a girlfriend of Dodie's in grade school and got to know the family. Irene was the most beautiful woman I have ever known. I admired her courage , persistance to always keep an active life and her gentle spirit which drew everyone to her. She was kind and loving to all of us. I still feel a strong connection to all the Miller family because my sister married Irene's brother. Although the marraige did not last, I was forever accepted as an inlaw (or should I say outlaw..ha) I send all my love, all my sympathy and many ,many hugs to all of you.You have lost a very special sister/Aunty/friend/cousin and the world has lost a very warm,patient and loving soul. The night Irene rolled into my hospital room in 1969 was life-changing for me. She gave me hope and inspiration for the future as a person with a spinal cord injury and became a lifelong friend.
