EDITH MAY BULLEN (nee KNIGHT) December 29, 1925 February 18, 2015 Peacefully, on February 18, 2015, Edith passed away at Park Manor PCH at the age of 89. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 67 years, Robert, her daughter Danna Campbell (Remi Grenier), her son Murray (Joanne) Bullen; grandchildren, Colin (J.J.) Burnell, Kerri (Tim) Sharples, Lyndsay (Joel) Catania, Matthew (Aislin) Bullen; and nine great-grandchildren, Bailey, Ethan, Emily, Sophia, Madison, Kadence, Gillian, Adelaide and Annabel. Ede is also survived by two sisters, Florence Chase and Grace (John) Kimpinski; her brother Robert (Benna) Knight; brother-in-law Norman (Irene) Bullen; and sisters-in-law, Esther Knight, Darlene Knight, Jean Turner, Margaret Lussier, and Nan Suche. Mom was also a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Dave, Harry (Vi) and Bill; sisters, Edna (Bill), Evelyn (Gordon), Isabelle (Maurice) and Dorothy; brothers-in-law, John, Bill (Ena), Johnny, and Don. Ede was born in Benito, Manitoba, fourth in the large family of William and Ida (Finlay) Knight. Near the end of the Second World War, she moved with the family to Winnipeg. She met Bob when he was invited to the Knight home by his army buddy, Ede's brother Dave. They were married on August 29, 1947. Ede's work career started in Eaton's mail-order, then after taking time off to have her family she worked in bookkeeping and payroll for F.W. Woolworth followed by a long career in payroll for Winnipeg Family Services. Ede was a caring and giving person. She was a long-time member of the Anglican Women's Auxiliary, and served as a volunteer at Park Manor, the Care Home where she would spend her last years. Ede and Bob were long time members of St. George's Anglican Church in Transcona, and it comforts us to know her faith remained strong to her passing. Mom's family will always remember her fabulous meals and baking, which she always seemed to prepare and serve effortlessly, no matter how crowded the table got as we grew in numbers. Ede and Bob loved to travel and spent several winters in various locations in the southern U.S. They had a large circle of friends made up of Dad's transit driver group, neighbours, and relatives. The house on Rosseau in Transcona was the site of many great parties where they literally "rolled up the rug" to dance. In her later years, Ede had several health challenges, all of which she faced with grace and dignity. The family would like to thank the staff at Park Manor PCH, especially the 2nd floor team for their wonderful care and kindness for Mom, and their genuine compassion and understanding during her final days. A celebration of Ede's life will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. Reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or Park Manor Personal Care Home Building Fund. Glen Eden Funeral Home & Cemetery 204-338-7111
