ALICE THERESA BAKER (nee TAYLOR) July 3, 1937 February 19, 2015 It is with heavy hearts and tearful eyes that we announce the passing of our beloved mom, grandma and great-grandma. We were honoured to be there to support and surround her with love as she took her final journey. Left to mourn her passing is her husband Bill, children Chris and Netty, Wade and Joyce, Dale and Lorna, Barry, Jackie and Martin and Colleen and Scott. Grandchildren, who brought her so much happiness and gave her so much love are Christopher, Karen (Scott), Roberta, Patti (Travis), Michael (Marie-France), Derek, Stefanie (Anthony), Robert (Robyn), Duncan (Brittany), Sam (Justine) and Nicholas (Gabrielle). She also leaves behind three great-grandchildren, Kaelyn, Robert Jr., and Eden. Missing her as well are her in-laws Bev, Patti, Tom and Judy, and numerous nieces and nephews. Waiting for her are grandson Daniel, her parents Patrick and Edna, siblings Patricia, Tom and Stephen, and brothers-in-law Joe and Wayne. Mom grew up in the Rockwood and Brooklands areas, and then made her home for her family in Stony Mountain for over 50 years. Whether mom was cooking at home for her family, or in the workplace, she nourished both the stomach and the soul. Family always came first for Mom, she worked very hard to give us everything she could. Mom was a lover of animals, in her free time she was often found outside, spending time with her pets, gardening and enjoying nature. She was also a very creative person who always had a painting or craft project on the go. Special thank you to her wonderful friend and cousin, Joan Maxwell for always being there. Thanks to Michelle and all the homecare staff who enabled her to maintain her independence over the past few years. Also thank you to the staff of Stonewall, Selkirk and Health Sciences Hospitals for their kindness and care over the years. We miss her terribly but she is no longer in pain. In spirit of her love for animals, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society. A private celebration of life and interment will take place at a future date. Remember her when the trees bud, the flowers bloom and the birds return. MacKenzie Funeral Home Stonewall 204-467-2525
