Uncle Roy was a wonderful man and like a brother to Don and Mel. We thank God that he was there to look out for them. He told great stories. We will never forget the stories that he told when he attended Don's funeral. The young people were enthralled with the story of Christmas in Holland. He will be sadly missed by my family. Our condolences to Kathy and Joanne and family. - Posted by: Iris Lester (wife of late nephew, Don Lester) on: Feb 27, 2015

He has always been a "hero" to me for serving in the 18th Armoured Car Regiment in WW2, beginning at age 19 until the war ended. Thankfully he came back, and made wonderful friends through his entire life, so he will be greatly missed! - Posted by: Ruth Paterson, (Niece - my mother, Ethel Webster. was Uncle Roy's "greatest fan for her whole life. The world is in serious need of an overhaul... no doubt why you were called home to consult Unc. Thanks to my Dad's 'little brother' for being a great friend and mentor. Family was all important to you. We'll debate whose turn it is to buy lunch next time we meet. - Posted by: Dennis (Nephew) on: Feb 25, 2015
