ROSE EVELYN FLORENCE November 21, 1925 - February 25, 2015 It is with extremely heavy hearts we say goodbye to Rose (Grannie). Yet we celebrate the beautiful woman she is and was to us. She will be forever cherished by her grandchildren Brett (Maggie) and Rayna (Michael) and great-grandchildren Jessica, Mitchell, Eric, Megan and Taylor. She will be deeply missed by a large family of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and brothers and sisters-in-law. She is predeceased by her husband Tom of 52 years, son Wayne, parents Joseph and Barbara Miller and siblings Mae, Alex, Frank and Charles. Rose was born in Fraserwood, Manitoba on November 21, 1925. She attended Netley School until she was 14. After marrying Tom on December 22, 1943 they settled down in Teulon where she lived for the rest of her life. Along the way making friendships that would last the test of time and those who knew her were richer for the experience. Rose held many jobs throughout her life and the ones she spoke most fondly of were the years she spent at Kotchoreks Store and the Teulon Bakery. Brett and I would eagerly go with her to the bakery just to have the fresh baked buns. Rose loved to spend time with her family and friends. She was not only an amazing cook but she was an incredibly strong and independent woman who faced every challenge with dignity and spunk! From the early age of 19 - having to work and raise her infant son while her husband recovered from a war injury, to 52 years later when she found herself widowed. She continued to live her life with independence, fun and determination that demands respect. Her travels took her to many destinations - from Woodstock during Wartime to all over Canada with family and friends. Rose loved to garden - especially flowers. We send out deep appreciation and gratitude to the ICU staff at Concordia Hospital. They cared for Grannie with respect and admiration. Cremation has taken place as per her wishes and there will be no service. If you were fortunate enough to be on the receiving end of a hug from her - you will remember her forever.
