NORINE CAMPBELL April 13, 1916 - February 27, 2015 After living a long and happy life of almost 99 years, our wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, beloved sister and aunt, Norine Campbell (nee Baldwin) slipped away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning hours of Friday, February 27, 2015 at Oakview Place Personal Care Home. Norine will be missed every day by her children Camille, Jaclynne (Fred Kyba), Joan (Marion Blank), and Herb (Sherri). She was a devoted grandmother, adored by her five grandchildren Joel (Christie) Danylchuk, Jocelyn Danylchuk (Kyle Brazeau); Sean Campbell, Trevor Campbell, and Darcy (Athena) Campbell and by her six great-grandchildren Cody, James, Taylor, Cameron and Jaylyn Danylchuk, and Portia Campbell. Mum was predeceased in 1996 by our Dad, her husband and soul mate of 54 years, Jack Campbell. Born on the Baldwin family farm in Warren, Manitoba on April 13, 1916, Norine (Neen) was the fourth in a close knit family of 14 children. She went to school in Warren and Stonewall, then attended Normal School in Winnipeg and went on to teach in rural Manitoba schools. While teaching at a school in the Alonsa district in 1940 she attended a Leap Year Dance and met Jack Campbell, the handsome red headed clarinet player in the band - the rest is history. They married in November 1942 and made their home in Winnipeg. Mum's home and family were the most important things in her life, and she made everyone around her feel special with her interest and support in whatever they were doing. Her intellectual curiosity and her love of words and poetry enriched the childhoods of each generation. Norine has always been dearly loved by her brothers and sisters on both sides, and a favourite with her many nieces and nephews. She loved her time out at the family cottage on Lake Manitoba, enjoying the magnificent sunsets from her deck swing while planning her next project, and soft summer evenings around the fire with friends and loved ones. She was a "glass half full" person, spontaneous, never bored or lonely, and always able to find the silver lining and see the best in people. She will remain present in our hearts and will continue to inspire those who have loved her. At Mum's request, a celebration of her life will take place on a date to be announced later. Many thanks to the second floor staff at Oakview Place for their affectionate and gentle care during her four months with them, and their unfailing kindness to family members who held vigil in the final days and hours.
