Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryORISE MACINTYRE (née LAPOINTE) 1915 - 2015 She passed away peacefully at Actionmarguerite (Foyer Valade) on February 28, 2015, in her 100th year. Son départ marque la fin d'une génération de la famille de Joseph Lapointe (1874 - 1961) et de Marie-Louise Gauthier (1884 - 1919), familles fondatrices de Ste-Agathe, Manitoba. La famille Audet dit Lapointe est une ancienne famille canadienne-française de la vallée du Richelieu (St-Roch) au Québec. She was predeceased by her loving husband Marvin Macintyre in 1989, five sisters: Maria Payment, Cécile Lemoine, Léonie Marcil, Béatrice Gratton and Evangéline Lapointe; five brothers: Raymond, Paul, Henri, Joseph-Lionel and Albert. She is survived by a sister Simone Hébert, from the second marriage of Joseph Lapointe and Rose Martineau, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins of the Gauthier family. Orise was born on the family farm, river lot 543, in Sainte-Agathe, Manitoba on June 19, 1915. She left home in her late teens to take a Practical Nursing course at St. Boniface Sanatorium and graduated in 1936. She worked there for a few years and then as an accounting clerk at Canadian National Railways, first in Prince Rupert B.C. during The Second World War, and then in Winnipeg until her retirement. In 1972 she married Marvin Macintyre with whom she shared many happy years, "saving the best for the last". Orise was a lively and sophisticated woman who overcame the difficulties of the Great Depression and lived an independent and full life as a career woman. She made many friends at work, loved to golf and travel and took on life's challenges with strength and determination. Her courage and resilience were an inspiration to all of us. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 13 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Eugène Parish, 1007 St. Mary's Road. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved sister Evangéline at the Ste. Agathe Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please tell someone you love them today, pray for Orise or donate to a charity in her name. As she always said: "Enjoy life while you can. Je garderai toujours de beaux souvenirs de "Tante Orise", à qui j'ai eu l'occasion de rendre visite, à quelques reprises, avec ma grande amie Diane, au bel appartement du centre-ville de Winnipeg d'Orise —une femme moderne et "sophistiquée", qui m'a toujours bien accueillie. Mes plus profondes condoléances à toi et Rox, Diane, ainsi qu'à vos cousines Gisèle et Huguette, à votre cousin Guy, ainsi qu'aux autres membres de la famille "Audet dit Lapointe".
